I just like the fact that we were ahead of the game, again
ive done quite well with spec, i like to bet on books i think will spike in 3-5 years
Star Wars collecting is just a bunch of fomo junkies chasing the next Ahsoka
Iām gonna run with it till it fades Which I donāt think will be anytime soon with all the shows coming out.
I donāt believe that. The Darths and Siths have quite a fan base, have for years.
But I will say High Republic book spec so far seems to heavily lean on Jediās and Padawans.
nuh uh!
Weāre chasing the next Doctor Aphra. Actually though, I havenāt seen that much FOMO in Star Wars collecting as compared to the rest of comicsā¦ just the recent flare-up with JimComics getting horny for SW and KCC amplifying it by posting his picks.
Just you wait! Dengar will be the next big show! Maybe just his kidsā¦Dengar babies! They wear diapers everywhere! Now thatās a show!
Got these in today. They look great to me. Question though is so we get out of the sealed packaging or keep original if maybe will sell one down the road?
I stand by my previous position.
So mine shipped in a Gemini (not a box with packing peanuts). I only ordered 3 books. I ordered 2 last time and same result. Gemini w/bubble wrap.
But listen up you primitive screwheads, I do NOT recommend bubble wrap being used inside a mailer. It only permits the mailer to be compressedā¦a lotā¦and if the comic inside only has a flimsy backing board to resist that pressure any tough handling will become a recipe for spine ticks. Likely right at the center length.
And wouldnāt you knowā¦there they are.
Not terrible. Still NM to NM+. But preventable.
Youāve been warned.
So hereās what $17.52 gets you.
1 Gemini mailer plus bubble wrap = $1
Parcel Ground Shipping = $9 (assumes discounted, full price $10.25)
That leaves $7.52 forā¦ā¦a couple Do Not Bend stickers, some packing tape and handling fees?
Seems a bit highā¦$2.50 per book. Not going to complain but they are not helping move books at that price.
They should charge $15 per exclusive and then less for shippingā¦people would likely buy more (even if paying more) because theyād be less inclined to be turned off by shipping charges.
I have used bubble wrap inside a mailer for over a year now and have only had maybe 3 claims that one of the comics was damaged, and that is after some severely rough handling.
We have now added a bubble bag to surround the Gemini as well to further protect it from the elements, plus itās a pretty blue color!
I think @D-Rog 's point is mostly that a bubble wrap over a comic with a flimsy backing board like IDW uses inside their polybags is whatās causing the problem.
Yeah, gotta make sure the bubble wrap is wrapped around sturdy cardboard, etc.
If you donāt like what they charge for shipping thereās a real easy fix. Donāt buy from them. Now send me $10 for a my sage like advice. Lol.
Iād rather a book be bubble wrapped inside a Gemini than not. Iām basing this off of the hundreds of packages I have come in monthly and the thousands of books Iāve sent. What you say is true if thereās to much bubble wrap but just enough is another story.
My spine tick is on #12 but the same tiny little tick. #13 looks great but I havenāt taken a real close look yet.
Or just buy foam board and use that instead. Thatās what I do. $1 foam board gets about 6 comics. Weighs as much as bubble wrap.
Nice and solid. No squishiness. It also provides a ābufferā along the corners and edges if you cut it slightly larger.
You selling one of those first Cho appearances?
Sell sell sell!
