I might actually hit up the shop tomorrow for the first time in like 5 months. Not to grab High Republic but hoping while everyone is running for them, nobody will notice the potential Bosslogic and Momoko variants the shop might have available for cover price for Eternals #1…

I guess Marvel needed to print 200K…in order to just fill 100K…
Nope, all books are cover price from day of release until they ship them off to get donated cause they couldn’t even sell them when they place them in the $1 bins (so they actually get cheaper than cover at a certain point)…

It depends on the cover stock they use. If it is the cheap flimsy crap that they use for a number of books, then you end up with issues like this.
If it is the thicker stock that they use with some titles, then it is all fine.
I doubt they will have enough copies to cover all of the damage replacements, which sucks for those of us that pre-ordered big.
Why can’t someone be both a reader and a speculator? What would the shop do in that case? It’s a neat idea, but nearly impossible to pull off without offending your customers even further. M2c.
That’s happened a few times with big Marvel books in the past. Start dipping into the damage overrun to sell (because it’s a hot book), then shockingly there are a large number of issues and not enough copies left to cover damages.

I called my lcs (i live in LA and they are in PA), and I inquired about high republic. They only received the pre orders, which is fine. I missed the boat, and that’s my fault. After the fomo is over, I’ll be able to get issue 1 and just long term hold
I got 11 copies of A, B C and 10 2nd print, 3 1:10 and a 1:25 all from tfaw and then 7 trade dress and 2 virgin copies of wanted comics store variant and ordered that signed book bundle today from Out Of Print, subscribed to Star Wars insider and bought 2 copies of their 2020 special edition. This weeks order from tfaw alone(which includes more than just high republic books) was so expensive it made me cut a ton of books from my future pre-orders. Need to take a month off and sell a bunch of stuff to replenish the comic book checking account funds again lol

I’m doing sets of 3 of Thor right now (cover A and any additional printings), and I had to cut back quite a bit on my currents. I’m not a huge speculator by any means, so my comic pull are for my PC. So Thor and hopefully now SWHR will come through for me in the long run. Only other spec I have is Adam Warlock. Hoping he shows up in the MCU in a huge way so I can profit something good for once

Isn’t rare for a 2nd print to sell out before the 1st print is even released?
Likely, however being that it came out so early (prior to release of the first, and before many online places sold out) it might be the lowest printed of the open order #1s.
Hard to say as I think it was driven so early partially by shops realizing they missed the ball on the first print.
