Star Wars: The High Republic

We haven’t gotten our shipment from Diamond yet, so no one has had their orders processed. Everyone’s was delayed at least a day because of printers, but add on FedEx freight delays and ours wasn’t coming until this morning at the earliest. If your order is cancelled it will stop showing up in your account. If it still shows up in your pre-orders, just assume it’s coming unless told otherwise.

Got to my shop around 10:07… Opened up at 10:00. Two Cover Cs left and I grabbed both. Luckily the shop set aside a Cover B for me so I gave a cover C to the dude who walked in behind me.

Honestly I was expecting to see a bunch of copies sitting there.

You should take your Future State gripe to a new topic and stop cluttering up the High Republic thread…

You really need to contact Diamond and FedEx… this is unacceptable on TFAW’s part. I know you can make them work harder and get the job done right cause we all know TFAW secretly owns Diamond and FedEx and can do such things… (sorry, wanted to pretend I was some impatient clown on eBay)… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ok, back on topic: Why did Diamond screw the pooch on the date of release of High Republic #1? Both my LCS are delayed “perhaps a day.” So, I’m supposed to show up at opening (which is 11 am for both) both tomorrow AND Friday possibly? This is going to be a shit show and I won’t end up grabbing one off the shelf. I’ll miss them showing up, whenever that is, you just watch. Because they’ll show at like 2pm on Friday and people who come in after work or Saturday morning will get them. Totally off routine. Good thing I at least have one or two pulled when they come in.

My question for Diamond every week:

I got from my LCS:

  • Cover A
  • 1:10
  • Hans
  • Anandito

The owner was telling me there wasn’t that much demand for Star Wars HR for his customers. I was shocked to hear that. He said people called in for the Hans variant this morning, but that was it.

I am picking up my order in an hour, and will hold out faint hope that the damaged copies are replaced at some point. Just like my damage replacement copies of SW Insider 199…

Ha! Funny, that’s exactly what the LCS looks like, exactly what the owner was wearing, and exactly the posture I had when talking to him (clothes were a bit different).

All 3 shops I went to this morning didn’t have any copies of any cover on the shelves. There was a flood of people coming in asking for the Hans variant. For this far into NCBD (at least on the east coast), there aren’t many copies listed on eBay yet.

Was able to get cover A and 2 B’s from my LCS. Even though they limit 1 per customer I had a friend buy one for me and they missed the fact I had 2 during checkout. My fiancé is out running around trying to secure more but not the best luck… 1 overpriced 1:10 variant is all she turned up so far.

I was able to get most my copies through TFAW but I asked my LCS last week to hold me a copy of every cover they got plus any incentives so I’ll see Sunday what I got.

I wanted to read it anyway so I had them add the series to my pull list as well.

Worried about getting your copy? Want to ensure you get a 9.8? Still some of the super cheap CGC 9.8 pre-sales of the regular cover from this eBay seller currently at just $59.99 + $15 shipping (slightly over the price not including his shipping you’d end up paying to send in yourself).

I dont agree with that. I feel like its almost the same as a retailer saying “if you dont like it, open a retail account” and we all know how that worked dont we ( 100s of new online stores).

I dont agree with shops raising the price in the shelf. Imho i just wouldnt ahop there anymore

Why do we not have a CHU Diamond account and order everything ourselves lol

I got lucky today when I ran into my LSC. I was able to get 2 copies each of covers A, B, C & 1:10 at cover price. Plus Etnerals Boss Logic for $29.99. Then I ran into another store and picked up 2 copies of A & C and 1 copy of B & 1:10 ratio all for cover price again.

If anyone is still looking for A, B, C or the 1:10 variants, Variant Edition comics here in Edmonton has some as of 20 minutes ago when I was there. They do mail order.

Think the idea was tossed out there once, in the end it was to much work and others might see it as a “buying club”

im ok with a buying club lol

I think I’ll end up with 2A, 1B, 3C (hans), a 1:10 and 1:25. Well, make that 2 Hans, as I just sold one.

Both shops I hit were surprised at the popularity of it. One was down to 2-3 As and a 1:25 for $50, and the other was out entirely.
