I wish I got the lower price but no lie seen the image and said damn Yoda looks goodā¦ havenāt seen a Yoda cover since the Peach 1
ā¦ then all the Star wars fever I said at least grab 1 for ya selfā¦ then the flip kicked inā¦ buy 2ā¦ sell 1 pay for bothā¦(hopefully) and hours later my gut was right. Its Thurs evening and all shops starting to post the book on IG with the imageā¦ and Iāll be pretty sure by Sat book will be gone.

The animosity about the pre-FOC hype ākillingā a spec is such a dirty money grab attitude, it makes me feel like I need to take a shower. It was obvious, without anyone saying anything that this cover was going be highly ordered. I it wasnāt as if this was some low print run book with an amazing cover that might slip through the cracks. Come on man.

You cherry picked half of his reply to make it appear as if he wholly agreed with you. When in context, he concluded that your point is flawed as you fail to represent other variables other than your one laser focused bullet point. And even that bullet point is severely illogical, doesnāt make sense, and has zero evidence to back it up.
Hypothetical EG; A book with a 90,000 print run, that then gets talked up pre foc, gets what? Letās say a 10% boost in pre orders? And that is being generous. So now the print run is 99,000 instead of 90,000. If that book has sold for $20 on release day in the secondary market w/ pre foc talk, what value would that book have, assuming that the demand is the same (despite less exposure), if the print run remained at no pre foc talk print run of 90,00? It would be worth approx $22-$21 dollars. Only $1-$2 more. Not exactly a booming gain in returns. Your point is so narrow minded and short of any real evidence. It is truly laughable at this point.

Wow, this thread escalated quickly. I did want to say that this is a very good point that is often under utilized. Talk to your LCS/comic source about bulk discounts and incentive deals. You might be surprised at how much you can save by having a good relationship. Also, do not be afraid to ask for things you want but do not see. All Diamond retailers can order all Diamond items, if you want your store to stock something just ask. Want the new 4th print, but it is not available for pre-order yet? Just ask! Donāt be afraid to talk to your retailers!
