Quick question on bulk order. What do you consider bulk order? 25 copies+, 50 copies + 100 copies+ ? Cuz I tried to do 25 copies and didn’t get any additional discount on the books I just got the incentives at cover. Which was not that great of a deal so I passed and just got 3 copies which they didn’t arrive cuz the shop got shorted out. Ether way, I was Sh#% out if luck lol
Thanks for the insights. I will reach out when I am looking to buy bulk. I didn’t even know this was an option (locally or online) and would have done this a few times in recent memory. And I don’t play games with returns, etc. Need to support the LCS!
I mean it totally depends on the shop. For some shops ordering more than 5 of any specific title could be a bulk order if they usually only deal with a small number of comics and focus more on graphic novels or books. And not everyone or every store is going to give any additional discounts if you order in bulk. Offering you an incentive selling for multiple times ratio price at cover price seems like a pretty good added bonus for ordering 25 to me, though. Next time if you really want a discount and don’t care about an incentive you could offer to let them keep the incentive and knock a few more bucks off your price.
I guess I’m just cheap lol
There was a zero discount applied to Gbess’ proposed deal with the LCS. If he orders 25 copies of a book (let’s say High Republic), that entitles him to 2 copies of the 1:10 incentive and 1 copy of the 1:25 incentive…and those would be at cover price. This was no “deal” to begin with.
If could order 25 copies from TFAW at cover (no discount) and get the 1:10 and 1:25 at or near cover. I would do that all day long. Sign me up!
You start ordering that much, might as well get a Diamond account and get them at discount…
I will look into it. Good idea. Depends on the degree of upfront costs and if there other volume based requirements (certain amount per month minimum purchase, etc). Does Diamond only have comics? I would def get an account if there was also trading cards, etc. I spec on Pokémon, sports cards, figures, and tcg games like Flesh and Blood.
Oh. And since this is a Star Wars thread. I got a bunch of those Yoda 1:10 variants from Westfield and (not my favorite) Comicxposure. Thanks to all for posting on that variant. Looks cool.
Cards, figures, etc I believe
Yes cards and toys, statues, etc.
The only requirement is you’ll have to have a store that accepts credit cards, etc. I think the minimum monthly order is $400 total (that’s cover price, not your discount price). I could be wrong on some details but I think the flippers and speculators out there to meet the minimum requirements just dump the site soon after as they never followup to check.
Yeah, I avoid ordering raws or exclusives from shops that offer 9.8s on them. They will just pass you the crappy copies.
There will always be sore losers who missed the boat. Ignore them.
You can get some sports cards through Diamond (and collector cards), but TCGs are through their other company.
Fun to finally see someone else who likes FAB. We were I believe the first US store to sell them. Had a decent number of players and events until the pandemic closures last year. Finally getting the next set up for pre-order I think now…
My guy gives me 25% off cover for all the books on my “bulk” order. That includes the incentives as well.
I noticed that TFAW had FAB at one point. The hero decks I think. Maybe even the first Rathe booster boxes. Hopefully you will have a Monarch (or whatever the next set is called. Monarchy?) for pre-order. That would be amazing. Would be great to get my comics and cards at the same place!
Good game. I bet a lot of comic readers would like it.
Does Diamond also sell the comic supplies? And does that count towards your $400 a month? I’ve been thinking about getting an account for awhile…
They have some supplies, but most of them are not as good as what you get from BCW. You do need a Business License to open a Diamond Account though and all the annoyances that come with it. Also, keep in mind those 50% off discounts are not permanent. After a few months they knock you down to default discount of I believe 25% off marvel items and you have to spend a very large amount to get it back up to the top tier.
Thank you for the info!
No problem! One thing I forgot to mention, the minimum monthly order has to be on FOC items only. Buying back stock does not count. So if you spend $400 on supplies and back issues, you would still need to spend $400 on pre-FOC items to make the quota.
Well now I’m excited to dive deeper into flesh & blood after first glance. Looks sweet. Thanks for mentioning guys… this thread is awesome! May I ask what distributor was sellling these when they release?
