Yes, I noticed that too. Artistic liberty?
Yeah, or lack of clarity in the coordination between the different books. Itās not going to bug me too much. Mayhewās is easily forgivable because (a) itās fu$&ing beautiful, and (b) itās just a cover and we know those donāt need to relate to anything, least of all the current look of the character inside. Just ask J Scott Campbell about that.
Adventures Iām just going to chalk up to a continuity miss and whatever.
So, will SWHRA #2 be THE book IF he has a full appearance, and he doesnāt actually appear in SWHR #3 (or perhaps a similar cameo to SWHRA #1) ?!
@drunkwooky I love your knowledge manā¦ now Iām debatingā¦ str8 up I like the coverā¦ the added spec helpsā¦ but I like the cover lol. Now between this and HaHa tomorrow Iām stuck on which to really go after.

To the people who donāt count it as the first cover
Itāll be the first cover. Heās not on the Advs 2 main cover or the 1:10. The question to ponder is, how spec worthy will it be if heās just tossed on an exclusive cover with no interior appearance, after heās already had a story appearance?
Ah, ok, I get what youāre driving at. Well itās really unlikely Ro shows up in HR3, in my estimation. Sskeer and Terec (ceret?) are on that farming planet dealing with a plant monster and I think Ro would really need to get shoe-horned into that before he gets more lines and appearances in HRA2.
Regarding which between HRA1 and HRA2 will be the winner? Hard to say in this market. Following the Hulk 181 rule, HRA2 should win. But Knights of the Old Republic 9 with three panels of a rear view hooded cloak whose unnamed is more valuable than issue 42 where Revan is named and appears at length with his mask on.
Valuable:
Not as valuable:
So, TL;DR: Star Wars be crazy. Nobody knows.
Completely agree. I lean toward that HR 3 exclusive cover likely being a third best spec option, and that doesnāt include the fact that $20 (plus S+H) for the exclusive HR 3 gets you multiple copies of HRA 1 or 2.
Really good looking cover, though.
Correct me if iām wrong but IDW doesnāt do retailer exclusives do they? So if someone was doing a new character on a cover, the HR marvel run is the only option. So cool cover, iām a fan and will buy a couple but spec wise it plays second (third) fiddle to the first cameo and full.
IDW: laughs in The Last Ronin
It does seem steepā¦Iād rather take a chance on 3 copies of the 3k trade than all eggs in one basket $60 for the 1k virgin.
I would think Adventures #2 will be the better one. The print run should be lower and Iām guessing heāll speak and be named.
It is $60 for the trade/virgin set. That quote is direct from Mayhew.
Being sold at multiple āstoresā: Mike Mayhewās webstore, Eastside Comics, KRS comics, Black Flag comics, Mutant Beaver comics, & Limited Edition comix
Old republic is not a last page cameo like hulk 180 and HR adventures #1
It will be interesting long term. This is a very cool cover and I def want one, but like, the SWHRA #3 cover has already been shown so thereās a āback up planā if you will. I almost want the cover thatās in-line with the relevant story more (Adventures #3). Butā¦ Iām still going to try and bag one.
I will never choose a store type exclusive variant over a regular issue comic with regards to this sort of thing. Sure it is coolā¦but the general masses arenāt going to get it, be aware of it, or care about it.
Just an easy pass for me. If the character takes off, there will be more than enough cool covers, fan art, etc, etc in the future to buy up.
Yeah. Thatās a fair point. Price points are high for it. I am undecided at this time. I do agree the money has a better value with buying ācover Aā as opposed to a variant from a store.
