Star Wars Toys - Hasbro Action Figures

Walking thru target after work.

Classic Boba on a Star Wars card is now out.

My target had at least 10 on display. $22…little steep for a basic 3.75 Vintage.

All in great shape though.

Books of Boba was mostly disappointing, but one of my favorite parts was how it expanded on Tusken culture. The Warrior is pretty bad ass, so I had to grab this when I spotted it at Walmart.

Finally showed up. But just the one style (not the dark hoists comic one).

On a budget it’s hard to justify spending $25 on a Star Wars action figure. But I’ve been waiting for this since Vanth debuted. One of my favorite characters.

So when I stopped in Walmart and they have about 10 of these on the rack, I sorted through them all and picked out the one in best condition. Some had dents or scuffs. Some of the figures inside were slightly contorted or the scarf wasn’t fitted right. Even though I fully expect this figure to show up at Ollie’s discount some day (given the price point and that he’s not well known), if that should happen or I find it on discount elsewhere I’ll grab another to open and display.

Loved his character in Mandalorian. Looks like a cool action figure. I’m not too into action figures but that’s real tempting.

There is still some very good money to made in the toy lines if you keep an eye on preorders and play the game just like we do with comics.

Take a look at the current prices on the Knights of the Old Republic vintage collection Darth Revan figure!!!

Figure hasn’t been out a year even…short print run. Folks were caught off guard by it. Never hit retail in big numbers. I’m very thankful I preordered a few of them. Just like the preordering of comics…

I never saw that figure in the wild, and I scout out Target and Walmart pretty frequently as there are a few figure (Star Wars and Transformers) I’m keeping an eye out for. Amongst a few other random things.

Swoop (Transformers 86 TF Movie line) and would love to see some Bad Batch (Omega in particular) or Enoch (he’s only been part of a set so far). Not interested in the 6” Black series.

I’d love to grab so many of the Transformers, but I don’t have the space to store, much less display, them. It also hurts that many of the Dinobots have had a $50 price tag, otherwise I’d grab them. So also a budget thing holding me back.

With the cost of shipping these days and eBay fees, it’s increasingly hard to flip figures for a decent profit. I used to buy doubles of figures I thought might be in demand but after doing the math on a lot of my sales over the past couple of years, it’s not really worth it for new releases. And with the way stores hardly stock action figures anymore on a regular basis, it’s not like comics where you can run out to the store and grab a few extras when something starts heating up. I buy 95% of my figures online, and mostly through preorders. The demise of Toys R Us and the apathy of Target and Walmart to restock regularly has really killed the ability to spec on toys for me. My best bet these days is sell older stuff I have extras of when something causes demand. The Haslab cantina allowed me to sell some extra cantina aliens I had. That was nice.

I still highly recommend Big Bad Toy Store. The biggest reason being their “pile of loot” shipping system. Essentially they just hold all of your orders and will allow you to combine them and ship together. Their prices are very fair and I’ve never had them short me on a pre order. I’ve used them for years.

I sometimes use them. I have a pulse membership so I get free shipping from Hasbro. I mostly buy Star Wars and Marvel Legends stuff so it works out pretty well for me. Sometimes I use Amazon but I prefer to try and use EE or BBTS instead.

Seen at Walmart…destined for Ollie’s.

I wouldn’t mind a Qimir with removable helmet.

stash some, with it getting cancelled so quickly, they will likely be hard to get in a few years

Do they keep pumping out more of the earlier, more popular figures in the series? Seems like every so often I see a restock of characters from a few years back in Walmart and Target every so often. Such as R2D2 (VCS 149).

This may be good advice. I remember way back when my local Sears had a bunch of Power of the Force figures with the coins on clearance for $2 each including a bunch of Anakin’s. I thought i was too old to get any so I went for the $2 clearance Atari 2600 games. What a great choice. I like Kangaroo, but it would have been awesome if I picked up at least one of those Anakin’s. Anyway, stuff like that, where a toy isn’t made for long and doesn’t sell, sits on shelves getting damaged and eventually goes on sale cheap where they are opened and played with, those are the toys that become rare down the line. Not saying these will, but if there wasn’t tons produced because the show tanked so quickly there is potential.

If you kept them in the original packaging (the Atari games) you’d still be doing well…

Atari is so much more nostalgic than PotF anyway…

Some do quite well, especially in the original shrink wrap… what I got that day, not so much. I had fun though.
