Of the new wave that is hitting, keep an eye out for the Vintage Collection Dark Trooper (Mandalorian card). Sells for over retail already out of the gate and it will do well going forward as army builders want multiples of it.
NOT the bigger pack one that is more expensive…this is new release regular blister bubble version.
How long has that been out? VCS number is 271. I don’t know what the logic is behind assigning those numbers, but I’ve seen others in the 330s in the latest drops at Walmart and Target.
Zero idea…I agree it makes no sense. My store had the wave you mentioned along with these and this is the first I’ve seen of them (freshly stocked as I’m in there fairly often sadly). I also debated getting a couple of the Assassin droids for the same army building principle but in the end just settled for a few of these fellows.
They reissued Luke. When they do that, they keep the same numbering but change the card back showing different available figures so the original release and reissued release can be differentiated. They did it with some of the skiff guards and a few others over the years.
Sometimes they do, sometimes they change to showing a few recent figures. But they definitely used to make the back of the card different from the first time they release a figure. The only thing is with the most recent preorders that began in the past month for the Black Series, all reissued figures are coming in their original packaging with no changes. I am not sure if that will just be a Black Series thing going forward or if they will start applying it to TVC.
Hasbro has shown that they will reprint any black series figure that shows value in the secondary market. I haven’t heard anything yet that will differentiate those releases.
I’m really afraid to go down to this rabbit hole of toys. I spend enough time on comics researching, accumulating, reading and selling as it is. I have no idea how you guys manage to find the time to do this, keeping up with stuff.
Although I must admit the toys that I have did sell for me real quick. Back when I was getting back into comics, my LCS guy would show me these Diamond sales as they come up. We have a good relationship so he would sell me things on deep discount. Saw some marvel and dc toys and figures and I picked them up because they were so cheap even though I wasn’t much of a toy guy.
Fast forward a few years I was cleaning my room and decided to look up what these were going for and it nearly knocked me off my socks. Listed them on ebay and it sold within a day or 2 for fat profits.
I don’t really. Toys are so much more expensive and consume so much space…I’ve moved a lot of my collection over the years, and still need to move more.
I have very specific characters I’m willing to pick up, and none of it is for spec.
I love the Cobb Vanth character…so I’ve been waiting for a 3-3/4 version for a few years now. That being said, he is like EVERYWHERE now…we’ll be seeing him in Ollie’s and other discount bins soon enough. And I’ll pick up a few more then, perhaps.
Transformers is ultimately my thing…it’s actually what got me into comics. It’s funny, I don’t really have a favorite character, but several I really gravitate to. Of the Dinobots Swoop was my favorite Dinobot growing up. It may have been because all the others were always sold out and he was the only one I ever owned. Bought him with my allowance as well, which at $5/week back then it took 3 weeks to save up to buy. So just part of the nostalgia.
This toy has been on pre-sales for over a year…so I’ve been waiting that long for it to show up…I almost grabbed Springer last week (same price) but then noticed both Springer and Swoop were released together…these $50+ ‘86 Movie characters seem to disappear fast, so figured “Well, springer showed up last Wednesay (and was gone within a few days), might as well check in today to see only any more showed up.” And there was just the one left.
Long story to just say that I only keep tabs/look for very specific toys for the PC. Lol. If I don’t find any books today doing the Wednesday Warrior, at least it was still a successful day!
