No problem! I do it because I love it! I’m truly grateful to have people paying attention and looking! It encourages me to keep up the same level of research.

It’s the first place I got to when I hear obscure SW character talk.
Like the other day I was wondering what Choppers first was…and you had it!

Doctor Aphra 13 Lucasfilm 50th variant.
Other than the two Fetts just floating on the water, pretty cool.

These 50th variants have been stellar in my opinion I’m building 2 sets definitely tryna hang/frame 1 set

I ordered a set. It is sad that they renamed Slave 1 though.

I’m a pretty progressive guy, but think it’s a really dumb mountain to take a stand on for Disney’s part. If somebody actually was offended, I want to hear about it, but it seems unlikely.

It’s legit I think and wise to change it, there’s just better terms to use nowadays. Slowly in the tech world we’re renaming “master” and “slave” references used literally everywhere slowly… I was annoyed myself at first but not so much nowadays.
Black American male here👋🏼 I in no way find “Slave One” offensive and even speaking to my fellow minorities in no way find it offensive. I understand the precautions taken but I feel it’s a little much for some things.

Star Wars Doctor Aphra #14 (Villanelli Blueprint Variant WotBH)
Star Wars Bounty Hunters #16 (Villanelli Blueprint Variant WotBH)
Star Wars Darth Vader #16 (Villanelli Blueprint Variant WotBH)
I ordered 2 sets… I’ve been on 2 of each cover for this whole run. Bought more when needed to get the ratio incentives.
Yeah, it doesn’t necessarily bug me that they changed it. It’s just like, was this really a priority? I was more happy to see the creative and more respectful treatment of native “cannibal” tribes in Jungle Cruise than to have to read through the aggressive opinions on both sides about Slave 1 when the news broke.

Could it be a language issue with other languages? “Slave 1,” might translate offensively in other countries more than we realize? Otherwise, it is random.

Work at a tech company. We’re trying to remove instances of the slave/master terminology on tech stuff. I do think it’s time to ditch that. Language changes all the time, and this feels like a reasonable step forward.
I think it’s different, though. How do you discuss the concept of slavery in a creative work without using the word? Again, the name of Boba Fett’s ship isn’t the most useful discussion of slavery as a concept in Star Wars. Probably more work was done in the Zygerrian story arc of Clone Wars on that front, but still.
