Yeah she said as much. I was only selling it because I have three more inbound from TFAW and Villain, so I was recouping LCS expenditure. Once I saw it was her, I was like “naw, I can stand to drop the price on this. This is too cool to be sending her her own book.”

I’m a bit bummed over that fact that Gist has sort of caught heat lol. Always loved this art, but most of what he is doing is now for exclusives/stores, etc. I’m not a big fan of chasing those and overpaying. I’m honestly not a huge fan of this latest SW piece above either. Hopefully the new found craze/demand/popularity won’t result in a decrease to the incredible detail he has always done in his work.

I feel similar. I am appreciating how these variants look. They’re nice. They aren’t nice enough to compel me to chase them though. At the end of the day, it’s Vader and Boba. Nothing new here. Wake me when Mando and Grogu hit a cover.

yeah, I know and bought some and I believe posted it on here when he released the image. I’ve followed him for a long time (his covers on the Strain, and Haunted Mansion, etc) It’s just within the last couple of months that he’s really received attention and started doing frequent exclusives that are far more expensive and difficult to get however. He’s also done variants in the past such as Web of Venom:Wraith, but even those were a bit easier to get (even at 1:50)…versus playing the "be online at the right time and hit refresh over an over). I guess that’s the point I was trying to make.

If you do like his art…check out his covers for Haunted Mansion as I mentioned above…incredible work.

Beta on whether the “carbonite” variants will just be greyscale of Cover As like “crimson” variants were red tint?

I think the character will be in carbonate.

I don’t know if this is the case, though. So far, the carbonite variants are also listing the Cover A artists: Kuder for Darth Vader, Asrar for IG-88. It think it’s going to be a grey tint.
