The Boys New King Of Comic Shows

Books are almost always better… as the old saying goes…

Can’t wait. Karl Urban is just a great underrated actor (best movie is Dredd though, hands down). And Homelander, he’s so perfectly evil!

I’ll never understand how an uber successful & beloved show like the Boys can have the #1 issue, with 5 years of an exceptional TV media property & comics, obtainable at around $350 for a 9.8

Yet, SIKTC with no show as of yet; no clue if it will be even decent or not, has a value of around $1000 in 9.8

One can certainly make arguments for a disparity, but 3x the amount of value?
I don’t get it. :man_shrugging:

I was thinking about this. Are there less #1 of SIKTC? Is it because folks love horror? Is it because something hasn’t been made yet and depending how good or bad it is that will impact the value? I dunno.

A mystery to me.
Definitely a bunch of factors that potentially can explain more value for SIKTC.
It’s the 3x value (and maybe even more) that baffles me.

On the surface, and without any data, it just seems in my gut that, either: one is overvalued or one is undervalued. (for the record, I have neither 1st print book. I do have Boys Reprint in a 9.8)

SIKTC is 3 times as good as The Boys comic

:100: this probably… it’s the anticipation probably at this point along with just general demand for them.

The Boys yes have had a successful run on the screen but doesn’t this seem to happen with most properties once they’re out, the hype for the paper products start to fizzle off some. I recall when Preacher hit super high values for their early issues and then quickly came down to real world pricing values as well.

Just like the Walking Dead as well… I think it’s #1 held on much longer cause supply was extremely limited for that one.

I dont think Boys had a ton of value before the announcement. SIKTC and Walking Dead did. More organic than pure TV demand.

And I really didnt like it at all. Personal bias. Its about 10% as good as Preacher.

Orders were about the same. Granted SIKTC had variants…so less of a portion were cover A.

3x demand

How did the value of Walking dead change as of season 5 (from its peak)? Was it still going up, flat lined, or going down?

Thanks
