Bittch about MCU on CHU
That is true
I also lived off playing Marvel Card game apps for almost a decade, you thought people are crazy with comic prices imagine selling one single digital card for $1000-$5000 a week to someone on this planet who thinks that’s a good deal. As soon as the game is done none of these things people paid for even exist. Meanwhile I’m buying comic first appearances with peoples money from digital cards.
My wife has a friend who collects Dragon Ball cards. He has this 2018 card of Goku up on ebay and the bid is a little over $12K. That shit is crazy. I also had a stack of Magic cards from the early 2000’s and sold them for a good profit.
Sharon is a skrull…calling it now
Could be but don’t know why they would be interested in super soldiers or earthly weapons.
There was a lot of Doom hints in Falcon like when Zemo said this in episode 3 “I heard what became of Sokovia. Cannibalized by its neighbors before the land was cleared of rubble, erased from the map.” Meaning someone came in and took over Sokovia and it wasn’t the GRC. The end credits scene for falcon if paired with the creation of White Vision from WandaVision hints at doom bots. The constant talk of redrawing borders since the blip in Falcon also could mean Latveria as the creation of Latveria was when Doctor Doom had his army of Servo Guards invade Rotruvia where he was successful at annexing it.
Ethical Opinions = Morals, yes?
If a person is willing to sell their morals down river what else are they willng to do? Sell a vote? Pimp their wife?
Disney recently announced that they have turned down multiple “world class scripts” for new shows because they weren’t woke enough.
I understand being inclusive, but inclusivity doesn’t mean turning away the best talent or shelving the best product. It means you hire the best regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or orientation.
Curious, but where is this announcement?
Disney uses the word “woke”?
Read between the lines.
So here’s what I liked about it.
It took a comic book story and turned it into issues that are going on today.
Sure, we knew Sam was the rightful Cap. And yeah, it dragged it out over 6 episodes. But it used that time to delve into some real current issues with this country through telling of a simple story that transitions Endgame into the next cap movie.
I really enjoyed watching all that unfold, and I hope Truth gets reprinted in tpb so I can actually read it (or I find a cheap reader copy) because that back story left me wanting to know more.
I hope everyone here can help me figure this out because I’m confused by one big element of, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” after a certain twist was revealed in the final episode.
Okay, so Sharon Carter is the Power Broker (we think), that’s a cool twist but there is a bit of a plot concern. She clearly knew where the man making her new super soldier serum was as he was making it FOR HER. She didn’t need contacts to tell her, she knew. Why did she take Sam, Bucky, and Zemo to him, however? She must have realized that the way Zemo hates superpowered people he would kill the man making the serum. Even if Zemo didn’t kill him, with the bounty on Sam and Bucky’s head everyone around the shipping container lab would’ve been in danger. It is remarked later on how the Power Broker is enraged the, “Golden goose,” making her serum is dead…but she’s responsible for him getting killed? Why did Sharon let her key to serum get killed?
The one theory my wife had was Sharon Carter wanted to kill anyone who knew she was the Power Broker before getting her fresh start and pardon. She did kill Karli, killed Batroc, and was probably happy Zemo’s butler killed the remaining superpowered flag smashers (few seem to know John Walker has serum, I assume Zemo doesn’t). Perhaps Sharon isn’t the TRUE Power Broker even and is working for them? That could kind of explain it?
Does anyone have an idea that explains the slight plot issue that the Power Broker–if Sharon–willingly let her key to the serum get killed?
I think she realized they can’t control super soldiers and decided she needs to build an army a different way via doom bots lol, the reason the flag smashers wore masks was probably because they were suppose to be Dooms first army.
Found in some Captain America long box today, way in the back. (Paid cover)
I though I had cleared this shop out of these a few years back…still had one hiding!
And I just sold my last copy of that stash last week! Jumped the gun…should have waited for the series to play out…regretted it a little.
Funny how things work out.
I can’t agree with you here in terms of them passing on things because they “weren’t woke enough”. This is a crucial line in that article in terms of the shows they were pitched:
“That’s not going to get on the air anymore because that’s not what our audience wants. That’s not a reflection of our audience, and I feel good about the direction we’re moving.”
Disney is a huge corporation that does tons of focus groups. They have an idea on what direction they want to go in based on research. And in terms of how this affects the MCU, they deliver way more often than not. I truly believe they will continue to deliver the best product. It’s the Feige Factor. I just made that up and am pretty proud of that.
I’m more with @ComicBookCannon than @BatmanFan on this. It isn’t, “Woke,” in a bad way to want to reflect modern stories and appeal to an audience hungry for those stories. Disney also isn’t doing this from the kindness of their heart, however. They see there is more success to be had being inclusive and are going in that direction. Now, when a company tries to be inclusive but fails at it, the result can be groan-worthy, so I see @BatmanFan’s concern with empty gestures made at diversity that are hamfisted or fail miserably. I think getting more diversity involved in the creation of the work we love is key. Just having white dudes writing, directing, and so forth doesn’t help anybody.
Until their properties air in China or Russia, then Disney bends over backwards and edits out any mention of inclusivity.
Yup, representation matters more than just the people we see on screen. Well said.
