Cgc now grades metal covers. Originally they didn’t, but have since updated their policy. Quick search of metal covers cgc on ebay will turn up a good amount listed for sale.

Although this book will release a month earlier than the Marvel Comics adaptation issue 1, I think it’s unlikely this will move the collectability needle on that issue.

Move it from what to what? -1 to 0?

The Mandalorian Adaptation #1 by Marvel will be a collectible issue. The open order covers won’t be an overnight flip in the $50, $100, $200+ range, but they will eventually be sought after. It’s taken 20+ years for the Phantom Menace books to become collectible, but it’s starting.

Mandalorina fully brought me back in to star wars so ill grab whatever if I can. Years from now these will be sought after.

Someone with more knowledge than I explain to me what the spec is for mando #1

  • much beloved characters
  • but comes out post show and presumably a LOT of copies

My POV is maybe a solid Looooong term play as new generations discover the show down the road?
Huge print runs don’t seem to effect some of the hot 80/90s books
Thoughts?

Comic spec is not only worth something for movies and tv shows. Some people actually do read them (crazy right) and like to have comic collections with their favorite characters in print format. So just because the TV show has already been made I wouldn’t say there’s no spec value, unless you equate spec value = tv/movie format.

This one is a different type of speculation, it is their first appearance in comic book format regardless.
