Yes but comparing how your being treated on social media to how Jews and others were treated during the Holocaust is what did her in. She has the right to speak her mind. Her employer exercised their rights by shit-canning her.
Iāll say just one thing cause what you stated there is dead wrong on so many levels.
She was let go from a show/studio who didnāt share the same views. Nobody silenced her. That is a complete misconception. She can still freely exercise her right to free speech in many other forms. Your employer, the social media websites are exercising their freedoms by not allowing one to speak on their platforms if they choose to not agree. Just like here on CHU forums, you have zero rights to free speech if we deem them against our own rules and policies. If you donāt agree, well, you should read the TOS again cause even here we reserve the right to delete, edit and or just out right ban you if we feel we should.
Alright, back on topic cause I can sense this is just gonna go down the shit hole at this point as itās leading into political territory (which is against our rules). So yeah, donāt test me, Iāll just make this entire topic vanish like a fart in a car with the windows rolled down.
You have the freedom of speech, that doesnāt mean you are free from the concquences of your speech. She is an employee and her action reflect on her employer
Back on TOPIC!
Totally agree.
Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again: your First Amendment rights only protect you against government censorship. However, even that has limits. The government can deem whatever property or platform they wish as ānot an open forumā and not permit speech as long as the rule is content-neutral. Further, the first amendment only protects the speech, not the speaker against criminal liability, etc. if, for example, you publish classified information, the publication is protected, but the speaker is not protected against a lifetime of incarceration.
Many people conflate the spirit of open discourse in the country with their constitutional rights. The two are not the same. The first amendment also contains the right of free association. Meaning a company is free to disassociate with any person for any reason as long as that reason is not discriminatory (I.e. the employee is a protected class (which political affiliation is not one)).
ANYWAY, Cara Dune spec dies as a black Series, vintage collection, and retro figure with a cult following.
I apologize for my part in swaying the discussion. We all love comics, let that be our uniting force.
āIn celebration of Comic-Con@Home 2021, Trends International released two new The Mandalorian posters, showcasing fresh looks at the titular bounty hunter, Grogu, and the returning Luke Skywalker.
Created by Russell Walks, the first poster shows a preview of Groguās Jedi training with Luke somewhere in the galaxy, potentially hinting at the young Force user wielding a yellow lightsaber once his training is complete.ā
