I def heard him say they canceled orders after FOC which is understandable same as Tfaw which I dont knock WE collectors tried to see if it would go thru it didnt. Cool. But YOUR issue with unknowncomics because u got snubbed for what we dont know cuz thereā€™s no transparency just ur word and what they said. I beleive screenshots and email quotes. So u may got crapped on which sucks for ur flips but so far on this site all Iā€™ve heard was bad communication from Unknowncomics which is bad but most have gotten there multiple orders and such. And I have yet to get a cancel email and I ordered Spawn 309 B. And I know Tfaw is favored because they SUPPORT the site which is DOPE. I got no problem with that. Same as Jim comics plugging Key Collector and such. We support who supports us. Right? Iā€™m just a customer so whoever has the best for me imma rock with UNTIL they show ME otherwise.

Not tryna ruffle feathers hope we can debate and share with no hard feelings. Just stating what I see as a new online collector shopper.

Actually, TFAW doesnā€™t support the site directly. Members support by clicking links and or seeing ads on the site. So TFAW wouldnā€™t pay CHU crap until you people click links and buy things that interest of you. We donā€™t tell people to buy from TFAW, we just link to products that yes, if followed through from click to buy helps support the cost of running this site.

Iā€™m not sure Iā€™d accuse the founder of the site of lying. Not a good look spidey. Iā€™m not sure what link you want, as you are aware it was a live Facebook stream that you said you watched, so you would know exactly where to find the video. Itā€™s not Anthonyā€™s job to clip a 1-2 hour live stream for you.

As to others, just because TFAW sent you 2 of 3 that you ordered, it very well will likely get fulfilled. I order a lot of books each week, and that does happen from time to time. Almost every single time I get the book in my next shipment or two (I get every two weeks). The only book theyā€™ve ever canceled on me was the Venom 27 Stegman variant. I got all 5 copies of Legends I ordered as i ordered from the correct listing. I didnā€™t bother ordering from the incorrect listing as it was clear from the beginning it was an error (didnā€™t even have a picture, the wrong release date, and it was spelt wrong OT instead of OF). Several sites had that same issue of a second incorrect listing on Legends (due to the Diamond switch), including Unknown. They canceled the orders on the incorrect listing as well.

Iā€™ve posted this on here before, but since this has turned it a TFAW Vs Unknown debate for some reason.

Transparencyā€¦I still order from both companies. I have no bias or stake in the matter.

I received two boxes, one from Unknown and one from TFAW.

Unknown order was 3 books. One the cover was folded over and then folded back leaving a color breaking crease. This was their error. I sent them a pic of the damaged book and the box it came in. They asked for a copy of the shipping receipt so they could see which employee packed the order.
They would not remedy the issue unless I tore the book up and sent them pictures of the book torn up. I explained that I really donā€™t feel right tearing a comic book up. Especially one that they no longer had for sale on their site. Note I have no history with them as I hadnā€™t contacted them on an order before, and I had multiple paid preorders with them still pending at the time. After over a week of back and forth I finally gave up and ate it as I couldnā€™t bring myself to tear up a comic book for no real reason.

TFAW was well packaged in a box. Unfortunately the post office damaged it badly and the books inside got damaged. 15-20 books got damaged including ratio variants. I sent one email to TFAW with pictures. They apologized, even though it was the post office fault, sent me all the replacements they still had and refunded my card over $100.

To summaryā€¦

Unknown - $3.99 book damaged by their own fault, Unknown argued with me for a week multiple messages until I gave up.

TFAW - one e-mail and they refunded me over $100 and sent me a half dozen replacements including a 1:25.

The result of the storyā€¦the next week I placed a $200 order with TFAW.

Alright, Iā€™ve watched the first 5-10 minutes of that Unknown Spawngate video and Iā€™ll point out a few things so far, donā€™t think I need to watch the whole thing (like an hour and 44 minutes):

  1. Seems they had duplicate listing that went unnoticed. :white_check_mark:
  2. They only audit once a week and missed it, only noticing Spawn 309B was still their top seller days after FOC occurred. :white_check_mark:
  3. They took down the listing and put in a backorder with Diamond (which was likely doubtful but thatā€™s what I would have done myself) :white_check_mark:
  4. As a week or two passed, they realized they wouldnā€™t be able to get copies from Diamond backorder to fulfill all the extra orders. :white_check_mark:
  5. So they reached out to other partners and affiliates they work with to try and secure copies. :white_check_mark:
  6. They couldnā€™t secure orders for all the extra copies from their mistake (at first he didnā€™t call it their mistake but seemed to own up to that with that statement and said, ā€œour mistakeā€ cause they missed their duplicate listing). :white_check_mark:
  7. Thatā€™s when they had to cancel orders. :frowning:

So, like I said sometime earlier, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.

What they hopefully learned from this is to audit their online listings and inventory more than once a week, perhaps they can automate that crap. (Hire me, I do computers)ā€¦

And hopefully next time something like this happens and a bunch of orders for a book slip past their system beyond FOC is they send out an email well ahead of release to let those know who ordered and likely already paid that there was a mistake in listings, theyā€™re trying to secure copies but some orders might not get fulfilled.

I havenā€™t watched the entire video but where he did say ā€œflippersā€ could have been taken out of context when @Anthony heard it. Maybe it was in the heat of the moment when he was reading his cancellation email while watching, IDKā€¦ Iā€™m sure Anthony can address what he might of thought he heard, so could just be honest mistake or slip of the tongue.

So we cant ask for proof? Another member stated he didnt hear the term FLIPPER . And Iā€™m not calling a liar Iā€™m stating that I didnā€™t see or hear what he saw could have missed so if thatā€™s the case point me in the right direction. Thatā€™s all. And I get the missus with diamond duplicate orders etc. Shit happens double listings etc. I just felt Anthony was shitting on Unknowncomics because he got shafted maybe his email set them off his verbiage past emails who knows. But my point was off that flipper term which is why I called BS. Site ownerā€¦ site creatorā€¦my momsā€¦whoever that was misleading to a new collector whoā€™s takes what is said without question thatā€™s all Comp.

And Poyo I know it supported through link clicks thatā€™s what I meant not that they pay u but u get something from link sponsors. Same as figure collectors on IG with links to amazon or BBTS. Same thing. Thatā€™s what I meant they support the site through our support right? Thatā€™s all. Again Iā€™ve ordered from Tfaw will order from whoever is reliable and who provides the best discount. Ordered that X men link in another thread from Tfaw cause only place I seen it.

I agree with you as well. In the industry I work in you discover and error that could be bad (impact your integrity Under worse case scenarios) you tell the customer immediately about it (transparency) along with your plan at the time to address it (which can change as you may not have all the details, but it letā€™s then know youā€™re owning it). Youā€™re about to lose customers, so itā€™s damage control and honesty is the best policy, IMO.

I donā€™t expect a whole dissertation, and humans make mistakesā€¦but get out ahead of it. Seems they could have done a better job of warning people in case they wanted to check in with an LCS and secure a copy.

Anyway, doesnā€™t explain the screenshot Anthony got and reasons for cancellation. But maybe they donā€™t have ā€œsorry, we fā€™d upā€ in their pull down menus for reasons to cancel an order. Definitely should not have selected the one they did.

Alright, I started to watch a bit more of the video and now it seems like itā€™s drifting into the ā€œnot our faultā€ type of talk cause of Spawn getting moved or delayed all the time and we didnā€™t notice cause we get a lot of orders per day, etcā€¦ which okay, I get it. You had duplicate listing that was still being ordered and not noticed but this still falls on them in how they handled it. He could have kept it short and sweet, to the point. Yes, we made a mistake in our system. Hereā€™s how we fix moving forward. I have a feeling the rest of the video is just trying to deflect any and all blame elsewhere. Thatā€™s bad if thatā€™s the case.

But Iā€™ll still give them the benefit of the doubt of the original mistake. Just leave it at that. Sometimes the more you talk, the worse youā€™ll make the situation come off. Just own it and fix it moving forward.

Thatā€™s the other thingā€¦own it, but donā€™t ramble on and on about it. Donā€™t offer up details not relevant to owning itā€¦just going to undermine yourself.

This is likely another example of an hour long video that could have stopped after the first 5 minutes. I got all the info I needed within 5 minutes. I havenā€™t watched the entire thing but Iā€™m sure itā€™s just repeating and repeating the same thing, over and over and like I just mentioned above, if it starts to drift intoā€¦ ā€œnot entirely our faultā€ā€¦ then mehā€¦ thatā€™s not gonna make you look better. What makes one look great is, hey, duplicate listing, we effed up, weā€™re gonna put something in place to avoid this in future, if it does happen weā€™ll try to send out more advance notices to those who might get canceled booksā€¦ sorry we had to cancel orders, it is what it isā€¦ Good Day!

You can ask for anything you want. But you know where the video is. You watched (at least some) of it. Why are you asking him to link you to the video? Itā€™s not his job to clip the video for you. If you donā€™t believe him, thatā€™s on you to verify. He owes you nothing.

And saying what someone says is BS, is calling them a liar. Thatā€™s just semantics.

You can even see on his screen shot they lied about the reason for his refund. They said he changed his order.

But Anthony is a big boy, he can defend himself. I just donā€™t like seeing people called a liar when they did nothing wrong here. He does a hell of a lot for us, not really fair to rip him to defend a retailer who has wronged some people.

Yeah, I still want to know what that was all about. I think they picked the wrong selection from their pull down menu of excuses, lol.

It will be fairly boilerplate. They were shorted or had damages. Trying to remedy it.

I believe when someone asked them earlier they stated they are trying to fulfill as many orders as they can on the incorrect listing.

Likely they are waiting to hear back from Lunar. After hearing back that they canā€™t get more they will probably cancel it like what happened with the Venom 27 Stegman. I know my local shop has been having lots of trouble getting shorted or damaged books.

As for the video where he said the canceled Flippers orders, it is the Spawngate video. Around the time stamp 53:20. He talks about it not being 600 orders but 600 copies and it was ā€œmostly the flippers ordersā€

The video was so long because he was allowing everyone in the live feed to confront him and ask questions. He didnā€™t end it until everyone had their chance.

Lots of poop talking goes on here on this forum. Lotā€™s of assumptions, lotā€™s of bickering about ā€œfactsā€ when people ask for ā€œopinionsā€ in certain threads. A few know-it-allā€™s; when they really donā€™t. These things are annoying and probably lead to more lurkers and less participation.

Donā€™t misunderstand me, I like it here. But, if these things could be improved upon this place would be even better.

I donā€™t know if itā€™s because everyone is locked up in their houses from Covid, but it would be nice if people would assume less, bash less, and carry on conversations in a more mature and friendly way.

And as far as TFAW goes, itā€™s a bad look when you have an affiliate relationship with one company and bash others with whom you donā€™t. Not saying that is the motivation, but itā€™s just a bad look.

Something to think aboutā€¦

The question was why was I upset with Unknown and not TFAW, yes, same issue, the difference is we noted and talked about in advance that the TFAW orders would not get fulfilled because we knew there was a duplication listing error, Many of us ordered all the same knowing this. I have provided a time stamp where he said they were mostly flipper orders. Now that is where I came in. I am not going to watch and hour and forty-five minute long video. To further the point, and I have provided a screen shot of my receipt, the order was refunded due to ā€œbuyer changing order.ā€ I did not change the order. I also was told by their customer service I did not get an email because they didnā€™t have my email address, except it was entered when I placed the order. In the end, I have already moved on. I just will not order from them again. Simply put that is my prerogative. I order from a ton of places online. I ordered a blind box from Comic Mint. The box cost me $50 and had a variant selling for $100 in it. I was thrilled. It got damaged in shipping though. One email to their customer service and they shipped me a new box with replacement copies of everything that was in the box. For free. Didnā€™t ask for the return of the other box. I emailed them back and said where do I send this to. They said do not worry about it, they o not need the damages back, the pictures of the damage sufficed.
