If it’s not a hot (or popular) book, it should not be sold at auction…it may go for lower than the best offers of low-ballers.
I forget what book, but recently saw something sell for 1/4 the price at auction than the buy-it-now’s before and after the auction ended….

Are you our forum member who collects newsstands, yeah? I recall someone does. I have a couple of rare newsstands. A, “Vengeance,” #2 in mediocre shape and, “Infinity,” #10 in great shape.
Yes, I’m big on Modern Newsstands, especially first appearances. Have made a lot of nice sales on them as well. Vengeance #1 is still on my want list.
Love battle chasers. Grab extra copies any time I find them. Have a bunch in my sale bin too.
About a year ago I was at my LCS and in the clearance area of the shop I saw some issues of Battlechasers for $1. Flipping through the issues I came across this in NM too.
Didn’t know what it was as I wasn’t too familiar with the 90s Battlechasers. Looked interesting and I stopped to take a look at it. There was another person standing watching me flip through this.
I didn’t check the secondary prices on these at the time because lol 90s. When I got home and double checked 
Went back and of course it was gone. Have never seen this comic on the wild since.
I’m such a sucker for books like those I buy them whenever I see them in dollar bins. Must be because 90s was when I was into comic books initially, but I always grab Turner/Finch/Silvestri covers. Ascension and Aphrodite IX are my latest targets.
One of the few covers I regret selling. Has been my favorite for obvious reasons.
