Third Eye, Midtown, Mycomicshop all sold out of this $16.99 Coverprice TPB
It’s still up on InStockTrades for $10.53:
Coming in clutch!
Nice.
One left now.
Huh. So, I accepted the offer for the trade for $40. But, I had no action item to ship. I looked in every “orders” page, including awaiting payment. Zip. And, the book is still actively listed. But, when I look at the offer history of the book, there’s a pending offer to someone for $40. Weird. It’s like I offered him the $40 price, but that was his offer to me. We’ll see if it gets paid or bought by someone else before then.
When you get an offer from a buyer, there will usually be one of two messages. Something along the lines of “we’ll automatically charge the buyer when you accept” or “you can accept this offer but it will be active until the buyer pays so basically whoever pays for it first gets it”. Your situation now probably had the latter message.
Out of stock!
Well well well. Let the fun begin then.
I picked up 5 just to get free shipping. I wanted one to read and want to get before it skyrockets, the other 4 I’m sure I can offload for more than $10 each…
I’ve read all 7 issues so far. It’s really worthy of the hype. Issues 6-7 were easily the best, IMO. It’s very Ice Cream Man, but maybe a bit more focused and sometimes optimistic (other times DAMN bleak). I think ICM has maybe run its course after 30-40 issues.
I’d just be Leary of buying a lot of trade copies. 2nd print will kill it. But $11 ea. isn’t much of a risk.
Ice cream man is my least favorite book I read. So depressing.
I read the first 15 or so issues. Only one ends in a slightly optimistic manner. Quite dark.
Trades are odd and a lot of the times, first prints retain value. They’re slow spec too… over time, they tend to only go up if the demand sticks around. I don’t think the 2nd and beyond prints really impact the same like floppy comics additional printings do.
I think they only go up if they are 1st print them out of print (for a while). If another printing comes out the value tanks.
Why isn’t this listed on Amazon? That could be a reason people are coming to eBay.
I wouldn’t go hard on the Assorted Crisis trades. All the specialized collected edition sites look to have plenty in stock, and Amazon looks to be only temporarily sold out (says restock incoming so they’ve basically tapped up the distributor for more).
Plus Image will, after the release of the first two trades, collect both trades in a deluxe hardcover which will then become the more desired collected edition.
There’s probably a window of a week or two max to make a profit on these.
It would help finding it if I spelled it correctly…
Btw, it has its own website.
