But named and multiple panels… it’s just an effing first full people… not like it was some big secret. If you know the character and see them, it’s just an effing first full appearance in my book. I don’t and never liked these silly games collectors and flippers play with their marketing type terms at best. And it’s perfectly fine if the 2nd or 3rd appearance is the most desirable and valuable even… that’s where this ultimately fails this hobby, too much squabbling and most of the time they’re basically saying the same thing in the end. I can’t stand it when someone argues over a cameo over first full and can’t come to terms to just call the cameo their first appearance, which it is. Cameo is just describing the appearance… and appearance is still what it is, an appearance.
Totally agree with you on this, it is rather annoying with how places like KCC or CGC elect to handle cameos and first appearances. Then would we go back to Absolute Batman #1 as his first appearance or would we say #6 is?
I agree. I don’t get in the first full vs first cameo bs. An appearance is an appearance. My post earlier was in jest. Most people seemed to get that.

I mean, he’s pictured and named in AB #1, but if a full figure, talking Wolverine introducing himself isn’t enough to be a first appearance, I’m sure we’ll see people talking like AB #6 is extra special.

So here’s my peeve. I’m all good with cameo, partial whatever…but when “words” have anything to do with an appearance being cameo or full. Words are text…they are not physical. They should have nothing to do with cameo vs full.
That’s like saying if a novel (without pictures) can be a characters first appearance if their name is used enough.

What’s funny is the word “cameo” is originally meant or defined as “a well known character or person who makes a brief appearance”…
Most “cameo” defined characters in comics are not yet well known, since they’re just now being introduced to everyone. So how could they be… “well known”?
Superman showing up briefly in a Batman comic is actually a “cameo” appearance…
Bob Dylan showing up briefly in his own biopic movie that’s being played by another actor would be considered a cameo appearance.
