Walmart DC/Marvel Packs

Strange Adventures 2
Nightwing 70 (2nd)
Harley Quinn 72

And in Nightwing 78, some early punchline covers.

Batman 92
Batman 97
Nightwing 72

All A covers.

Yeah, and now you need to inconvenience the person checking people out to grab the comics behind them for you…just to look through them. They had a stack of like 40 DC packs today.

The good news is many don’t know they’re there and now they’re not all ripped to shreds or beat to hell.

I just picked up my 1st Wal-mart DC 4pack for the Nightwing 78 and I was happy with the results:

Nightwing 78 NM or better
Nightwing 72 NM- (good Punchline cover)
Batman 92 NM- , and
Batman 95 1:25 Jimenez Joker Cover NM

It may be beginner’s luck, but I may have to start picking up more of these.

I just like that DC seems to be randomizing the inner books a bit.

Wow. A 1:25. Need to keep an eye out for those. Should be easy to spot as the spines are a solid vibrant color.

Unless the 2nd print of Future State Wonder Woman #1 is in the DC Walmart packs, Id be picking that up…

Like Poyo said earlier, books in the walmart packs are there for a reason…big print runs.

I went to my LCS looking for the first prints but he said he sent them all back since they were fully returnable. He only had the 2nd prints.

So this is a question I’ve started thinking a lot about lately…we might think there are high print runs, and most likely there are… but if you see 500 copies of a comic on the shelf, and week after week those copies remain there…that actually means they were never purchased. If it is a fully returnable comic, then you would have to subtract the returns from the initial print run to get the actual number in the wild.

This could mean there are far fewer issues than we think. I was also curious about the incentive ratios…as shops are able to order a bunch of these issues to unlock the ratio variants, then return the covers they don’t sell.

I’m doing a test run with DC with the Fortnite series and will let you know how that goes

Explains why they are showing up in 4 packs.

Now apparently even bigger than we probably initially thought too…

Good thing print run doesn’t matter.

Nope, only matters when mixed with supply vs demand… bigger print run means more out there and available. So if the demand sticks and supply starts to run dry, then you start seeing higher value…

On the packaging it says 1 in 20 packs has a Metalic foil edition. Did anyone get one of those?

Those should be easy to spot from the spine unless they’re covered with that white film the exclusives sometimes come with.

Had to pick up some late night necessities and grabbed a Nauck Eternals pack. Came with an X-Men 4 and Spider-Man 234 lenticular (1st Iron Spider).

FYI…beware looking for the 1:25 Jimenez variants in the DC packs…just realized these are some books like the Future State and Batman/Catwoman blank that have a solid color down the spine that may throw some off.

I did see what I thought was a Catwoman 1:25 but decided it wasn’t worth the risk in case it was something else.

I did pick these up today.

I got a Nightwing 78 today, no wonder woman so far…gonna try another Walmart later.

So one of the WWFS1s I could tell is identical. The other was different so I opened it.

Good thing is some of these filler books are forming a “run” so maybe I can unload them for about cover.

The Nightwing 78 also had two different books than my other pack.

I may start just offering these “extras” as bonus books if they are the same title as incentive (I.e. Nightwing 79, 72…I also have an extra 73 laying around).
