Walmart DC/Marvel Packs

@Comp82 I recall Eternals #1, Planet of Symbiotes #1, and the Gwenom King in Black tie in. Prolly missing a couple but those were definitely there, released with the High Republic books.

Are the high republics only in the front of the three packs?

Struck out today. No new ones at the walmart I went to. Will try the other one Monday

@ToddW Yesā€¦top book only. From what Iā€™ve seen there are 2 total of the High Republic in this current shipment/assortment total.

Interior books pretty random from my experience. Occasionally some nice later printingsā€¦sometimes junk.

One other noteā€¦I feel this shipment is wrapped/sealed better than past ones. Zero chance of trying to get some space on an attempt to decipher interior books. Better, even wrap appearing to keep the outer book a bit nicer. May just be my unique perception.

All 6 packs had been opened at my Walmart so definitely struck outā€¦

You can typically tell the lenticular pretty easy. Like I can tell one is a Captain America 695 and another is the She-Hulk (which was in the last round as well). Iā€™m pretty sure I see a Captain Marvel 125. Havenā€™t opened any yet. Will shortly and post.

That Iron Man 2020 I was also able to figure out with its pink cover pretty easily.

If you really wanna know what is inside the packs, simply tear the corner of the plastic back and you can see. I know a guy who knows a guy, and thatā€™s how he found the sleeper 2nd prints (they werenā€™t on the outside, only on the inside) :smirk:

@Devildog thank you. That means I missed them as I saw all of those today but not the HR. Now I know not to try again. Thanks.

I tried that on some of the ones I boughtā€¦but I believe in order to see behind the first comic you have to bend it, and likely damage it. So itā€™s not really much better than ripping it open.

After a few attempts to minimize exploratory incisions, I just take my best guess and either remove the whole thing or leave it alone.

I have taken loose comics at the store and packaged them into three packs, though. Sometimes some good 2nd prints are discarded. :man_shrugging:

Iā€™ve gotten a Moon Girl 25 & Moon Knight 188 that way.

The worst experience that I had was at the register checking out. It was in the middle of the night. There was two stinky people almost behind me. They had to be around 400 pounds each. I felt like I was going to pass out from the stench of urine and salt sweat or whatever. I remember running away as soon as I was finished.

I carry a pocket knife lol. Just cut the back where the cardboard is  oh waitā€¦ thatā€™s what that guy i know does

But that only exposes the back of the comicā€¦how does this guy you know pull back the corner to see the front without damaging it?

Iā€™ll also say sometimes you canā€™t see enough just from exposing the cornerā€¦I usually had to slice so much of the side of the plastic I basically opened the book, and said he heck with it and just opened it.

Again, these were books I had already bought.

You pull the plastic over the front silly goose. Trust meā€¦ it works if you do it lol

Yuck. Total let down inside these. No 2nd prints or incentive variants.

Gonna need to gather up my lenticulars and sell them in lots for $10 shipped. The Jean Grey lenticulars is one of the better ones though, IMO.

I dislike people that open (steal) things in stores. I honestly canā€™t believe your not only admitting to it but joking around. So if it doesnā€™t have what you want you leave it there?! So youā€™re the reason we go in and there all open. Iā€™d be ashamed of myself.

Walmartā€¦the Mos Eisley Cantina of the real world.

Nahā€¦ That cantina has classā€¦ Thereā€™s no class at Wal-Mart.

You just described FOMO to a tee.
Everyone should know that these Walmart books supply will go up as more and more are discovered at the thousands of Walmarts scattered across the US landscape.
The ones buying them at $100 when the the listings first start to appear, are paying those high premiums because they are suffering from FOMO. They think they Gotta get it before itā€™s gone, with out reasoning that obviously more will show up. Pure FOMO.
