We all hate store variants but

It’s people purposely bidding them up with no real intentions of following through…

More bullshit while avoiding the actual truth…

They might as well say “We grade to suite your needs.”

Yeah…really bad. What a poor choice. All about the money right there. Of course they will carry on just fine, but it will cost them.

It still doesn’t explain how each of those comics (UF4, Ghost Rider, and Deadpool acetate versions) got the 3x 9.9 and 1x 10.0 grades.

Just making up rules as we go along… it’s now the CGC way!

But their logic kinda falls apart cause it was just crappy effects thrown onto the cover lol

I also don’t know that it should be ok for creators like Crain to be approaching/discussing these things with a grading company.
Comic publishers/creators…do your thing. Make your comic books.
CGC should then do their thing based on established guidelines…
In my opinion there should be zero collaboration like this.

Like I said before, I’m really a Type A personality & this just seems so wrong.

For all the talk and hype… I’m guessing all the books will go on sale as usual (the next batch of Black Flag ones) and will sell like hotcakes as usual. Money makes the world go round.

I’m pretty certain that discussion didn’t take place. I’m calling BS on that one!

CGC may continue to grade these, but what has occurred between Marvel and Black Flag is a separate story. CGC may be willing to grade the two future books, but is Marvel willing to allow them to see the light of day? Especially, given that there is speculation that one of them was a mash up of Infinite Black’s IP and Marvel’s:

" Zymotica[ ]is the name of the actetate cover intended to be created for Clayton Craine’s Ghost Rider #1. for this weekend’s Boston Fan Expo, the “Zymotica Vs” variant cover. Might that suggest Black Flag Comics were intending to use their existing retailer exclusive Clayton Crain Ghost Rider cover approved by Marvel, to promote their own intellectual property, created by Clayton Crain, with a bit of acetate on the cover? Might we get Zymotica Vs Ghost Rider? You could see how Marvel Comics might have a problem with that more than the “In God We Intrust” cover ."

I love that CGC is still heading the books causing further harm to their reputation. I think it is especially funny they are labeling them as the “In God We Intrust” the horrible grammar variant.

t doesn’t make sense. The prefix already exists in the sentence as the first word “In.” Trust can be an adjective, noun, or verb. Here it’s a verb. “In” is an adverb, modifying “trust” so that trust operates on the object, “God” in the modified way “in” God. The prefix “In” or “En” is redundant on the suffix trust.

Clayton Crain puts the “In” in “in”

In God We Trust
In God We Entrust
In God We Intrust
In Gob We Introost

In Ingod InWe InTrust.

Black Flag will likely raise the price, still sell out, and revel in the fact nobody impacted him one single bit.
That’s the sad fact about it.
