I think God probably wants nothing to do with Black Flag after this. On second thought maybe that is how they got those 10’s

Yeah the only discussion with CGC prior to C2E2 was Crain verifying the few books he’s submitting to get 10.0 and 9.9’s as grades…

Is this from Boston or someplace else? At one point, Bleeding Cool was reporting that Black Flag had not shown up to Boston Fan Expo.
why are people buying these, non of these books have any real spec value in there normal covers

My friend always reminds me - there a few hundred people that will buy anything. And if there is drama and hype over the anything - it’s much more. Just humans being humans (I’ll leave the adjectives out that I would like to say about these humans).

By what CGC just posted you can take any book and as long as the artist for that book signs or draws on a Acetate cover you can attach it to that book and receive a grade based on the Acetate cover and not what the comic actually would grade.

Philosophical thoughts: I often wonder in a personal moment whether we, the hobbyists, have given so much power over to CGC at the expense of moments like these that we can no longer control. They control this. They control a whole lot more in fact.
The majority of us, the hobbyists, almost all seem to agree this is wrong. But they stand by their decision. Not a good look for the hobby when the hobbyists know something is wrong, but the entity in power does not. I don’t know where exactly we lost the power; but it seems like we did.

You are correct. Cbcs was our best hope in reigning in CGC, but they have seemed to gone the greedy way as well.

If you stop and think about things…and I mean really think about things, you might start to realize that CGC isn’t actually necessary for this hobby to exist and prosper. Regardless of what they will tell you or any points they come up with, they are not necessary at all.

Hehe…the owners attitude doesn’t seem quite so flippant now. Clown gets what he deserves.
So, while we will likely never truly know, clearly “something” happened, as Black Flag would have sold those & arrogantly made a show of it had they received a green light.

I don’t see any of them popping up on eBay yet. I want to see if the ghost rider has the Crain character on it. Will be a serious issue if it does.
He would be bragging in his squeaky voice that he does these, for you, the comic collectors, but only sets aside a few for the actual collectors.
