We all hate store variants but

“I’m definitely not buying more of these discount exclusive covers.”

Sees they have this as part of the sale.

“Damn it.”

Is it wrong to just buy 6 of these?

Update: Yes. Yes it is wrong to buy 6, as they only allow you to buy 1. Thanks for making the purchase decision for me!

They are more quantity over quality

Nope. LoL. I grabbed a few myself

I love that SA Scarlet Witch cover. And, they still sell reasonably well. I probably would have purchased 6 of those if I could have. Flip a few to cover the overall costs. But, with a limit of 1, nah.

Definitely some cool covers available.

Yeah grabbed some Spideys that ebay sellers move for $30 or more because people do not know what store it came from.

I’m becoming a big fan of Nakayama. I love the SA Scarlet Witch cover, but I might like the SA #4 Magik cover that he did even more.

How do you guys think this limited to 1,000/400 split is happening? Boy I hope it involves book burning!

Comic mint. February 17th 5pm EST. 800 copies total shared among partner sites

Another cover that’s been homage’d a tad bit too much…

Available on MikeMayhee store as well.

My store sells comic books for cover price. I can get 6 awesome covers, choosen from 100s of new comics every week, for about $24. I’m not so sure that 6 comics for $40 is such a ‘good’ deal.

@jcLu You kno I was referring to store variants right? Your store does variants for co er price?Frankie’s, Sanctorum, Wantedcomix etc who’s variants are $20-$25 a pop. So the unknowncomics sale (buy 3 get 3 free) was what I was saying is better than most since their trade dress books are about $10-$15 in stead of higher.

Yes. My reply was very much tongue in cheek. Comic books are comic books, regardless of the silly labels (store exclusive) given to some by their dealers in order for them to sell at hyper inflated prices.

There is nothing about these store books that would justify selling them for more than cover price. If a store thinks they can sell 3000 copies of a Marvel book, then they should order 3000 and sell 3000 at cover price. They should not be buying 3000 copies if they can only sell 500 copies, and thus need to hyper inflate the asking price to justify not selling the other 2500 copies. Anyone who buys these store books, all you’re doing is subsidizing these shops poor business practices, imo.:man_shrugging:

We start a thread called ‘we hate store variants’, then proceed to do nothing but advertise store variants while talking about how expensive they are, how shady they can be, complain about the price, complain about how many there are…then we go and buy them. It just boggles my mind. No offense though, to each their own. This is all just my opinion. :100:

I’ve pretty much “checked out” of the High Republic Store/Artist variants. It was beginning to give me a migraine
