tfaw doing a variant every now and again was fine, but now there just like every other store ramming them out several a week.

True. But the prices are still low and the print is low and the art is great so far. Once that changes, I’m out .
I’d like to think we’re at least keeping the quality high. We are keeping prices lower on them, not doing more than one per series (and for the few we REALLY love at least waiting for the starts of new arcs), and not doing more than one cover per variant. Having fake rarities by printing less of a copy without the title or some that are on foil just to jack up the price isn’t something we want to do; whatever we put up we want to be the version of the cover that’s the best.
The last week and a half or so was also an anomaly in terms of releases because we purposefully planned on having a bunch of reveals happen close together as a campaign that was being promoted on some areas of the internet.

ive bought several of them, but with 3 releases in a single week it concerned me. so many stores have started well and than they just go full tilt with pumping out multiple books each week. but if you continue with the 1 cover per a book im happy, just dont start trying to do scam stuff like say how this marvel book is limited to 800 when everyone knows marvel has a 3k minimum print run. or double dipping like mayhew. god thats the worst. mayhew releases a set than as soon as its sold out surprise its a cover C. just watch if his sw book sells out tomorrow he will drop a 3rd cover in a week

Having what was it three or four releases wasn’t a big deal to me this week. They were all unique art and I just ignored the ones I wasn’t interested in.
I think you’re on the right path avoiding minor variations of the cover. A Department of Truth variant isn’t an issue, but a virgin version at 250 print run, ultra limited glow-in-the dark edition of 100, and friend and family and bots only foil black light sensitive edition of 20 version of the same art WOULD hurt TFAW’s legitimacy I think. It sounds like you guys already know this though. I think if you stick with that policy, the variant program will continue without much blow back or complaint.
