what a bargain ![]()
I think I will just save the pictures of the covers and save my money. Good grief. I don’t need to own those at the prices listed.
Ridiculous greed with those prices…yet, they’ll sell out quickly.
Bingo!
To me it’s a typical Campbell cover and I wouldn’t pay cover price for it much less what he’s asking but everyone has different taste and spending habits so
I would guess the McFarlane assisted one would carry better long term value but these exclusives are not my thing.
Yikes! No thank you.
Not a good cover among them. People are paying for the signatures
I like Campbell. But I am a goober. I would not pay that much though, I may be a goober but not that bad.
I actually do like Campbell and think he’s put out some great covers over his career. Just think those prices are a bit much for these covers.
Well, at least Campbell has stepped up his cover background game.
This one has variations of Purples instead of just one shade of a color.
So, that’s good - I guess
Lemme know if you trade any for other Absolute Batman variants. Have a few fun ones I’ll get sooner than later.
Bonus!!
Always slightly regret not paying $10 for signed…but I also figure I’ll likely see him at NYCC and can get a much better signature (placement/color) anyway.
200 copies is not RARE… 1 copy would be RARE… I hate shitty marketing terms to create FOMO… but you know, anyone who falls for such marketing gimmicks deserves it more than likely! Snake oils salesmen going door to door scaring people into, “this is my last one”… it’s just all bullshit!
According to the experts at Recalled Comics
, I present
The Standard Comic Rarity Scale
This arbitrary scale is commonly used by hobbyists and dealer databases to estimate the worldwide surviving population of a specific issue:
-
1–10 copies: Ultra-Rare
-
11–100 copies: Super-Rare
-
101–1,000 copies: Rare
-
1,001–10,000 copies: Low Distribution
-
10,001–100,000 copies: Common
-
100,001+ copies: Very Common
So 200 copies is indeed “rare” by their metric
Still dumb cause we all know they printed more than the “200 copies” they claim they have available and no one will ever know either if they slowly release them into the wild.
Totally agree, unless its printed right on the book with sequential numbers I don’t believe any of these claims. Ever since seeing Comic Tom in JSC’s warehouse you’ll never convince me that he, and other publishers/artists don’t overprint all of the covers and he has skids of them in that warehouse. Cute little retirement plan where he slowly releases his books for sale over time.
I agree. Rare is just a buzz word to sell copies to suckers who don’t know better. It should sell on its own merits.
