We all hate store variants but

Because publishers treat these like reading material, they don’t care about condition. It’s still a collectors item if it’s beat up to them.

If it was reading material, I’d buy the $4 A Cover and not this $60 book. I received a damaged copy as well and Boom support acknowledged the shipping process was bad.

Which they’ll admit but likely do nothing about ever… sadly enough.

Well, if they don’t require you to return the comic some of that will press out nicely…Some of it wont but you can probably bump the grade a bit.

After acknowledging, what did they say they will do next?

  • I asked about replacements and they said there weren’t any because this was supposed to be sold at Convention and they didn’t print extras as they didn’t anticipate damages from delivery.

  • They issued my refund right away.

  • In my initial email to them, I told them to not bother shipping my Basilisk comic if this is how they ship and he said they have put a hold on shipping the Basilisks and are looking into better packaging, including bag/boards.

He also mentioned they did a test shipment before they shipped out the BRZRKRs and everything went fine. But I mean come on… you don’t have to be in the comic business very long to figure out you don’t send an unprotected comic with in a Gemini mailer… especially one that a customer paid $60 for.

Thanks for being brutally honest to them. I feel like they got bombarded with complaint emails when they told you they paused shipping basilisks. Unfortunately, my MTG ashcans were already shipped.

I’m a bit relieved for now.

Looool. Test shipment??? Did their shop just open yesterday?

Maybe they used the same testing approach that TFAW used to determine how to ship one or two books…

What is everyone’s thoughts on the wanted comix Wilken’s Motu revelation 1?

This is ridiculous. Anyone who has been into comics in the past 40 years knows to bag and board anything deemed collectible. There is no excuse. If you’re charging a collectible price, the product needs to be shipped as a collectible - not as reading material.

You’d think that’s the case but sadly it’s not… it’s all about taking chances. For them, it only cost a buck or two at most to produce. Them selling at $60, they still lose nothing really if they have to refund.

Wonder how many Comic Mint will buy ???

They probably just put in 10000 in the qty and just click buy… whatever they get, they get and then list immediately at $20+ over the initial cost.

I like Wilkens art. Too bad there’s no virgin variant. Definitely not paying $20 for a trade dress cover.

I believe he is doing regular non store variants for the rest of the series. Wanted to pick up issue one so I had a set
