The gimmick won on me this time lol
I donāt care for the cover myself and if they wanted to tie into Jordan why not have miles in this pose. Christ can some store exclusive do a simple variant with miles in place of Jordan in a real simple cover using this?! Theyād have my money and many others Iām sure.
Copy write
ā¦ jordan sued Big Pun when he used the logo so idk about Marvel using it.
was this variant posted anywhere? Will it be 20$ like other GA exclusives?
I guess Disney doesnāt own that image yet.
My boss has a giant framed picture of Jordan taking that controversial three point shot back during those finals in his office. I asked him once why he had that up and he pointed to two guys behind the basket. He was third row behind the basket at that game and heās harbored a grudge ever since.
This one. Heās in this one:
So a homage cover with Miles in a similar pose wouldnāt be possible without Jordanās permission?
Not to be pedantic, but trademark. Copyright has fair use carve outs like parody. Trademark is a little more strict. Either way, Iām pretty sure Marvel as directed by Disney is not eager to have Nike sue them regardless of the merits of the claim. Theyāve probably asked before, been told no, and itās become policy internally.
Yeah Iām assuming its $20 trade $45 trade virgin set
Idk could beā¦ but Iāve learned over the years Jordan doesnt play with his likeness trademark.
That makes sense.
I worked for Nike in the 90ās and we had the Nike Pumps. Stupid shows we had to wear around to the stores. Had a separate air bladder you had to carry around to pump them up. I never could wear Reebok shoes. They didnāt fit me correctly. But I was a fan of their Hexalite midsole that they came out with to compare to Nike Air. I worked as an Ekin for a while traveling around. I had a hexalite sample keychain that always brought me good luck.
I didnāt know you and I shared similar shoe industry jobs in our past. I worked specialty retail as a purchaser for running shoes and accessories. Nike, Adidas, ASICS, Brooks, New Balance. That stuff. Normal retail headaches, but the free sample stockpile from trade shoes I ended up taking to law school with me was so worth it. Upwards of thirty pairs of running shoes that lasted me pretty much until two years ago.
My son is a sneaker head and is jealous of the shoes I used to own. I wore them until they died a smelly awful death and they wouldnāt be worth anything today. One of my favorite things to do in the Nike stores, and I travelled around a bit setting them up, was climbing the textured I beams that were in all the stores. I could get up to the rafters. It was a blast.
I hate this laziness with a passion.
ā¦and here I thought the 2nd print would be on its own. At least it is a store variant and not a ratio variant of the 2nd print.
I know how to use photoshop and can get rid of the trade dresses from covers, maybe all these shops doing virgins of regular releases should hire me
The owner Trinity I have known for a long time now. Good guy.
