What Movies are you watching?

Watched UNFROSTED on Netflix. Pretty damn funny.

I want to see that.

I’ve been seeing really good reviews and really bad reviews. I’ll check it out.

I finally watched Black Widow. Not as bad as I expected but not great either. Kind of just spun it’s wheels though and didn’t really go anywhere. It gets the “meh” rating from me. No vomiting, but no jumping for joy either…just “meh”.

Somewhere in the Black Widow is a really good movie.
But the “no one ever gets injured” thing really brought it down significantly for me.
Falling from cliffs, falling from skies, smashing into things and somehow Scarlet and Florence just dust themselves off like nothing happened. They’re not Thor; They’re not the Hulk. They’re both quite human and injuries happen when you fall 100 feet.

Reminded me of the Monty Python “just a flesh wound”.
I mean c’mon Marvel. I recognize it is a superhero movie but keep it somewhat grounded and reasonable.

I went and saw Chapter 1 of Horizon several days ago. It was the 1st am showing and the whole theater was full to capacity except the front row. It was about 3 hours long but it was good. I cant wait to see Chapter 2 in August when its released.

Going akon with that, I was happy to see the actor who played Ryan Rogers in the tv show “Turn” (I reccomend it) be in the movie. Lots of characters from Yellowstone, including the rival from season 1 who was the General, a cowboy from 1863… oh Sam Worthington from Manhunt (tv show on Unabomber, also recommend it) was the Lt.

I will be purchasing the soundtrack.

While everyone else was filling seats seeing Deadpool, the wife & I went to see LONGLEGS.
Really, enjoyed this film. Strong acting, very tense and creepy. Disturbing, etc. I had a few criticisms with the overall plot as the movie is a bit of a blend of crime drama, horror & supernatural, but nothing to significant. Strong film.

Anyway, two thumbs up.

Under the radar type horror movie called “STING” about a little girl and a spider. I mean, horror movies about spiders are pretty cliche but it was actually pretty entertaining all in all. Good effects by WETA. A bit of a “spin” on the genre (see what I did there).

Wife and I enjoyed it (we rented it on VUDU/Fandago).

Today’s viewing was Alien Romulus. Nor a bad popcorn flick with a ton of nods and throwbacks to earlier movies

Did is expand on the franchise with any new lore or hints to the future or was it more of a stand alone flick?

Can be seen as a stand alone, with homages to the older ones

I like how it appears to take the Alien franchise in a horror direction again. I hope to see it soon.

Watched Long Legs today. Unnerving. Crazy. Satanic.

Nic Cage was excellent

I saw, “Alien: Romulus,” and quite enjoyed it. I rated it 4.5 out of 5 Stars on my blog. Things get a little too zany at the end for me but I mostly dug it.
