What Movies are you watching?

I put that on my watch list…

Chief should taken the 26 mill and called it good…

Man. Just watched the Mickey Mouse horror movie “Mouse Trap” what a complete stinker of a film. Thank god it was only 1 hour 20 minutes and I am working.

Is that that new one that takes advantage of the public domain stuff?

yes it is. Also started watching the Crow, but damn it was boring.

i tried a few times just cant get into it

The Crow was actually good. Very different from the original movie.

Watched The Substance with Demi Moore today. Very interesting concept. Movie was good over the first 3/4 of the movie. Then lost it at the end. Could have ended the movie 75% of the way and would have been better

Sounds like lots of horror-styled movies these days that fall apart at the end. At least, from the bit I"ve heard it sounds kind of like a horror flick.

Haven’t gotten to it yet but a reminder that the new Salem’s Lot releases on HBO MAX today. I’m looking forward to it. I’m sure it live up to the book as King’s films never do but I’ll still enjoy it.

It’s a lot of book to pack into a two hour film so I’m sure the pacing will be off and such…

Anyway…I’m excited to have something new to watch more than anything else. Love me some scary flicks.

Ok, so Salem’s Lot was worth the watch. It certainly wasn’t incredible, groundbreaking or unexpected. If you know the story or have seen the prior series especially. It was entertaining enough and at this point in time it was nice just to have something to watch.

So hard to capture King’s works effectively because of his incredible ability to put you right in a story, make you feel like you know a character very intimately, etc. Very few exceptions like Shawshank and Green Mile, Stand by Me…hmm…Dolores Claiborne wasn’t bad either.

I didnt care for. It didnt reinvent the wheel. The glowy eyes reminded me of Twilight…

I’ll definitely be checking it out.

Unfortunately, it suffers from the fact that since the time it was written and the original series were made (which were pretty shocking to audiences, creepy, and “new”)…all that stuff has become cliche…and pretty tame to audiences.

Involving little kids and the kids at the windows had folks scared as hell back in the day (the original series on TV)–now it’s like “meh”…

No one does characters in print better than King. Say what you want about his plots or content or the type of stories he writes, but he is a master at characters. Shawshank was a short story but it takes a movie full of narration to capture it.

The window scene for me as a kid was the most frightening thing ever

Oh…oh…oh…I forgot to mention though…

One of the very best parts of the movie…did anyone catch it…

When the little boy was researching Vampires…he actually pulled out a copy of DC House of Secrets!!
My wife wouldn’t let me pause and rewind at the time so see what issue but I will later when I’m home lol. It was definitely one of the older bronze age issues though.

I thought it was incredibly stupid and NOT worth the watch. Very dumb. Retread garbage that wouldn’t scare anyone. Acting was horrible. The story never builds. Just jumps all over the place. 2 hours of my life wasted. The 70’s mini series still wins out.

I can respect that… I’m so thirsty for anything new to watch (especially anything in the scary realm) that I’m jaded).
