I was rockin’ out to Deep Purples ‘In Rock’ album today, front to back. Great debut album from Deep Purples Mark II lineup. Flight of the Rat is my personal favourite track on this album. Dirty. This album established the band as part of the English Unholy Trinity of Rock.
Finally saw my first Billy Strings show last night. Absolutely incredible and totally worth checking out if you get a chance.
Here is a question for those who want to share. What is the top 3 Albums that you must hear at least once a month?
I’ll share mine.
1st. Tool: 10,000 Days
2nd. Tame Impala: Lonerism
3rd. Dr. Dre: 2001
Listen to more Foghat.
It changes but currently:
- Andrew Bird - Pulaski at Night
- Lord Huron - Long Lost
- Head and the Heart - First Studio Album (no specific album title)
And at least yearly I pull out my old Pixies albums, more often than the others Doolittle
Lol that’s me with Nirvana’s MTV album lol
I always enjoy some OutKast.
Was listening to The Church earlier. “Under the Milky Way” is one of my favorites.
Same here but with Alice In Chains Unplugged.
That’s a good one.
Nirvana’s isn’t bad but I was never a huge Nirvana fan. I did respect Kurt when asked about his music and what influences him… his reply went along something like… Nothing we do is new, there’s bands like the Pixies and Sonic Youth who have done this style for years before we came along. He also said in every song he wrote and made, he was just searching for that perfect Pixies tune…
Throwing this up in the music thread. Iron Maiden collaborated with Marvel for a few awesome shirts:
The newest Of Mice and Men album is an absolute banger of an album. Definitely check it out
Anyone seen The Beatles documentary Get Back? So very good!!
I am finally going to a concert after 2+ years. Going to Tenacious D with one set of friends. Going to Phish (haven’t been to a Phish show since 2000) with a different group of friends. But I don’t listen to these bands or even like them that much. More of an experience with friends. I only listen to Kraftwerk and synth stuff from early 80s (and GZA). By the way. I came to the realization (today while washing dishes) that the Violent Femmes record is one of the best of my lifetime. Incredibly timeless.
Phish @ MSG? I’ll be there!
