What music are you listening to?

That’s awesome. I grew up around NY Hardcore for the most part. I always felt DC was better.

I saw Earth Crisis and Snapcase once. I believe it was the same show. Or at least the same venue during same time period. (20+ years ago!). Those shows were crazy… in a good way.

Here are my most common tapes i listen to. When I want analog sound.

Misfits are my absolute favorite band. Love 7 Seconds. Dead Kennedys, man Jello was my hero. and MFDoom, man so sad he passed so young. I am looking for some JFA right now.

Good stuff. You listen to OutKast at all? My favorite musical group of all time.

Yeah, though I haven’t listened to them in awhile. I think Kanye West’s music is great. I think he’s a bit crazy but a talent nonetheless. Slim Thugs Already Platinum is a great album if you’ve never listened.

I like a lot of the older rap- like Biggie and Tupac. Love the Beastie Boys. One of the newer rap groups I’ve found that are great is Run the Jewels. Haven’t found a song by them I don’t like.

Everybody showing their age in this thread, and we’re all more or less from the same couple of decades, lol

Now you’ve got me wondering everyone’s age. I’m a young and hip 32. What? That’s young!

Outkast Atliens is the best IMO

Damn, that’s my favorite album too. I think we need to be friends!

Jeez that is young. Make your 30s count!

1983 here.

I’ve been listening to alot of deep house with minimum if any vocals lately. Haven’t been able to vibe to anything with lyrics as of late :man_shrugging:

Overall, I listen to anything that makes me feel a certain good way - this feeling spans several genres. :+1:

Today’s an Easy E, The Game and Gnarls Barkley kinda day.

I’ll just say I’m over 50 and leave it at that lol.

While I love my “old man” music as listed above…I honestly love all music.

70’s disco and Zeppelin whilst waiting for your fav song to come up on the 8-trac player.
80’s with WaxTrax record, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Echo and the bunnymen, siouxie and the banshees, Depeche Mode, Yax, Erasure and all the big hair bands of the day.
The dawn of rap with Sugar Hill Gang, NWA, Luke skywalker and 2 live crew

One of the great things about serving in the military…you meet folks of all walks of life and ultimately learn to love all music (if you don’t, you’ll end up miserable).

Even now, my sons (30 and 24) laugh at me as I’ll be on the treadmill and switch from Johnny Cash, to Kanye, to Machine Gun kelly, to Erasure all within one workout.

Music makes the world so much better!!!

Man… I used to listen to the Geto Boys and their solo albums a lot. Both Willy D albums were great and Bald Headed Hoes is as good as it gets.

Lately when it’s been a long day, I make sure to turn S.O.B. by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats… to end my work day!

Here’s the lyrics…

I’m gonna need someone to help me
I’m gonna need somebody’s hand
I’m gonna need someone to hold me down
I’m gonna need someone to care
I’m gonna writhe and shake my body
I’ll start pulling out my hair
I’m going to cover myself with
The ashes of you and nobody’s gonna give a damn

Son of a b1tch
Give me a drink
One more night
This can’t be me
Son of a b1tch
If I can’t get clean
I’m gonna drink my life away

Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

Now for seventeen years I’ve been throwing them back
Seventeen more will bury me
Can somebody please just tie me down
Or somebody give me a goddamn drink

Son of a b1tch
Give me a drink
One more night
This can’t be me
Son of a b1tch
If I can’t get clean
I’m gonna drink my life away

Mhm, mhm
Mhm, mhm, mhm, mhm
Mhm, mhm
Mhm, mhm, mhm, mhm

My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me
My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me
My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me
My heart was breaking, hands are shaking, bugs are crawling all over me

Son of a b1tch
Give me a drink
One more night
This can’t be me
Son of a b1tch
If I can’t get clean
I’m gonna drink my life away

Son of a b1tch
Give me a drink
Son of a b1tch
This can’t be me
Son of a b1tch
If I can’t get clean
I’m gonna drink my life away
