What music are you listening to?

Which Cure? For my wife it’s Disintegration. I’m a Wish person.

I get the ones of some of my favorite bands, not Gwar, just happen to have that one, but all the others are my favorites. Wish they’d make a Red Hot Chili Pepper comic- id probably Get that one without question.

I am definitely more of a fan of their earlier stuff. Three Imaginary Boys, The Top. But all of their music is awesome.

Seriously. That one Violent Femmes record is extraordinarily classic. The one with blister in the sun, etc. I am amazed by how well it has aged.

Ooooh, The Top! One concert we were at on the Bloodflowers tour the drummer started the wrong song (because everyone else clearly started something different… and then switched) and they ended up playing Shake Dog Shake. We went again the next night (different town) and they didn’t play it, but they’ve always had a few songs that were the rare plays on tour, and we just got lucky!

Had to head up from NYC to Boston. Drive by Truckers were the perfect companion for the trip.

First concert I ever went to was Cure (Wish tour) at Providence Civic Center. Great music that aged well IMO. I am a sucker for synthesizers.

Oh. I am not even a huge fan of the Beatles, but you should check out the 5 minute Beatles preview on Disney+. I think it’s called Get Back. It looks BRILLIANT.

I am going do a Beatles playlist to prep for this movie.

We used to be down that way quite a bit for shows pre-COVID. Last time I was at the Ottobar was maybe 2015. Before that for Melvins Lite in 2012.

Talk about some collectibles. The Melvins have awesome limited vinyl at shows.

I’ve seen a lot of shows at Merriweather over the years as well.

Hopefully we’re soon at the point where we can visit the new Guinness facility!

I don’t know how I forgot about to mention them- Nine Inch Nails. Love every album, every song. The best concert I went to- With Teeth tour in 2006 at the pavilion outside Washington DC in Virginia- can’t remember what it was called the. Or what it’s called now. Fantastic show!

I have been to Guinness several times. My wife worked on the interior design of the place. Her company did all the tables decor and more there. We have had several Vip tours and tastings. It’s awesome.

Oh man. I love NIN. I saw them right before Pretty Hate Machine dropped. Saw them with Peter Murphy and saw them at Lalapalooza

Yo, that doc absolutely looks AMAZING from the trailer. Really looking forward to that one!

They played Shake Dog Shake in 2019 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
One of my all-time favorites with Friday I’m in love.

My taste is all over. I play guitar so it’s mostly guitar driven from Pantera to John Mayer, weirdly I like John Mayer as much as I like Dimebag and I love Dimebag…

Also a huge Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Marilyn Manson, White Zombie fan.

Dimebag was amazing! One of the best ever. I play guitar too and I went through a bid phase of all his playing and all his Guitar World Articles- Riffer Madness- just trying to obsorb everything he put out there.

I was listening to Johnny Ramones Punk Rock radio station on Sirius XM last night. I totally forgot how awesome Black Flag is. Same with Bad Brains (although HR sings too fast). Ps: there is an HR documentary on Amazon and it’s really sad. Mental illness, etc.

I was totally in a Pantera phase around Far Beyond Driven. I liked them and Clutch at that time. Ministry too. Fond memories of High School! And then went back to punk when in college.

Soggy bottom boys.

I listen to Faction Punk a lot only because I cannot find Johnny Ramones station any more.

Black Flag is incredible, one of the bands that shaped my life and I was lucky enough to see when I was younger with Henry Rollins as the front man. I have a Black Flag Tattoo on my leg. I saw HR at the Otto Bar some years back. His weed smoking has not helped his mental illness and you could not help but get a contact high from him. The documentary is brilliant and so sad. He was an amazing performer and really a big push for young black men to get into punk. There are a ton of great punk docs on Amazon. Salad Days is one of my favorites because I grew up going to the DC punk scene. Minor Threat is still a fav. (never was straight edge though, but they go in depth about the straight edge hardcore scene and how it was one of those things people just ran with.) Also a great doc on a skate park in Virginia we went to on a couple of occasions.

Nice. I grew up listening to Dischord, especially the compilations (Flex Your Head, Minor Threat Discography, etc). Saw Fugazi a few times, but that is the extent of any DC bands in a live show. Well, Henry Rollins started in DC (State of Alert), but I saw him when he had the solo records as Rollins Band. However, I have been to a ton of NY Hardcore shows and still see Quicksand (ex-Gorilla Biscuit) when they tour. Middle aged dude in a mosh pit. Nice.

Also, I am older and more mellow now. The most recent Ian McKay band is catchy and pretty good. Edit: Coriky

Ps. I did have a big X on my hand when a young man. Shake my head at that one… I subsequently became more accepting of drinking and smoking. And the other straight edge prohibitions. Lol

I love Gorilla Biscuits still, really love a lot of hardcore. I saw Fugazi at a Columbian Hall (Knights of Columbus hall) show a bunch of years back. 2 hours of basically warm up for a show they were having that night for $5.

There was a great hardcore scene here. Earth Crisis (has they were New York based) and others would come through. Was just watching a doc on Amazon about the Pennsylvania Hard Core scene.
