If you’re just trying to dump inventory…or if you have a super hot book, I can see this platform working well.
But if you think having less than 20 people watching for 60 seconds is going to get you profits better than eBay or Mercari would, you’re kidding yourself.
Especially with how new this is. One needs to build a reputation and following, and that means commit to regular/consistent time slot and also practically be giving books away in the beginning to keep customers coming back for more.
Like most businesses it takes a lot of investment before turning a profit.
Being generally negative is going to turn away followers faster than unreasonable prices or lack luster books for sure.
I promise if my stuff goes for a good price I’ll congratulate my buyers and not whine. I’ll also not price stuff lower to start than I feel I could reasonably accept. I’ll have some killer deals because I got a killer deal on some titles, but I’m not going to put myself in a place where I’d lose money on a book! We’ll see how my first show Monday goes, but I promise I’ll be weird and pleasant!
Thanks all! I am overall quite happy with my debut. I felt awkward at first but got into a bit of a groove. Some stuff sold for less than I expected and some items greatly exceeded what I would’ve thought. I hope to do another show before long of general goodies and have an idea for a themed show of cheesecake comics and lower printed Spawn as I have a chunk of both. I’d call it, “Saucy Covers and Spawn Comics Sellout,” or something silly. First I need to get everything from today shipped out and probably should buy more boxes and packaging soon!

I have a stream going off today. $1 Black Mask Signed Slabs, $1 Daredevil Deadpool and Ghsot Rider Raw comics. A few other goodies including a LTD to 350 NYCC Zenescope 9.6 slab and a Spread #2 9.8 Action Figure slab (those two are starting higher at $25)
Well that was terrible. Lol. Won’t be doing that kind of show again. Live and learn. Sold some slabs that I needed to clear out at ridiculously low prices. Would rather just offer them here to friends of the site.

I had a similar showing last week. I popped in and out to chat (lovemycomics). I think you had the right idea to schedule it into an empty slot, but the problem w scheduling is that ppl can go live at any moment and you never truly know if you’ll have the time slot to yourself. Also lots more sellers bring approved in the last week so way more crowded.
I’m gonna try to just go live when I see an opportunity and not worry about scheduling or getting ppl to follow the show because I don’t see any correlation between high follows and high live viewers.
Also, I want my whatnot exclusive Invincibles already. I’m one of the sellers on the back cover and we’re supposedly being sent copies
