CBCS Pickups

My 9.4 is the one I bought off the shelf when it came out. Actually, I likely had a pull list so probably got it discounted as well. Just upgrading to a 9.8.

Correction… I’m upgrading to a more appealing comic book in a likely higher grade… ← correct answer, since grading is always subjective.

Well, in this case (or in these cases) they are clearly an upgrade.

My CGG 9.4 has a number of spine ticks (would likely get a 9.2 if graded by CBCS) while the CBCS 9.8 has none…and only the slightest wear along one of the free corners.

Mail day.
I personally obtained all these autographs.
As much as I don’t like either grading company. I think they’re both incompetent at best. I do appreciate that CBCS has this verified signature program so I don’t have to hear “ohhhhh… but how do I know the signature is real”.
Good luck getting Barry Windsor Smith autographs as he scowls at you for collecting a comic.
And John Buscema isn’t going to be signing anything all too soon. I don’t even believe there are any witnessed Buscema autographs so verified is about all you’ll find. And it aint easy.

Just got these in the mail today from SDCC. My boy was happy with the grades. All these except for the Star Wars Mando book, where last minute finds through my boxes as I didnt know who and who wasn’t going to SDCC. All but 1 are his books lol. I love these new cases. They are so clear and clean. No rings and the books dont move around upon shacking and no scratches inside the cases like some CGC cases (yes I have one of them cuz stupid CGC didnt want to change it.) Over all very happy with them.

Yes, I’m likely sending any future books into CBCS if for the PC.

That was incredibly fast. I assume you did not press, but fast pass or no?

No fast pass no pressing.

99% of my collection is CGC but these new CBCS labels are a game changer imo. I took before and after pics to show how much better they display with the new labels.

Wow on that Usagi #1

Yes those new labels are nice.

Yeah my son is very happy to have that in his collection and he had fun meeting Stan.

Technically Beckett but they’ll be in CBCS slabs soon enough. Same company right? Btw these Beckett slabs are humongous!

I have never seen those before.

It’s Beckett signature verification, so no grade just authentication. Usually you see signed sports memorabilia in these slabs, or signed photographs like this:

Are you going to do signature verification? Or how would that work?

CBCS will verify sigs they didn’t witness. I’d assume they’ll do their own process and take Beckett’s authentication into account when they verify and put something in their own slabs?

Yeah I’d just select the normal CBCS signature verification when submitting for grading. I’ll include the Beckett authentication inserts just so they see them and can remove them from the Beckett records if they exist, but I think CBCS will do whatever they normally do. Should get yellow labels barring any surprises.

Have you checked to see if cbcs would honor the becket…do they not outsource signatures to the same verification service? Becket = cbcs now…they should not charge you for the service they already performed.

I’ll look into that! I need to crack them out to press before submitting so that may affect that, but I’ll def ask, thx.

Well, as soon as it’s cracked then it doesn’t matter anymore. You’ll have to go through authentication again. Unless you have it pressed by cbcs. They do a good job. I trust them with pressing, just may be a longer turn-around time.
