CBCS Pickups

Oh man, Steve looks like a shyster…

Well he is the face of CBCS and does many interviews to promote the company.

His stories about PGX… ooof

The other guys YouTube videos are rather cringy too. All he does is whine and complain, while incessantly washing his hands through his hair. :face_vomiting:

I got some newsstands to send in. I’d better get in on that February coupon.

I got an email today stating my NM98 Newsstand has been graded and is now being put in a case. Is it normal for them to tell you it’s graded but not provide the grade?! If so that’s pretty lame. I’ve checked my account and no grade. Or maybe there’s a lag, but I’d think they’d input in the system before emailing me. Anyway it’s the first book I’ve submitted and will never ever submit to CGC. I’ve gotten way to many overgraded CGC books it’s not funny.

I’d imagine it’s like having a baby and not wanting to know until delivery, so it’s a complete and total surprise…

it’s in the system once it’s shipped to you. they’ll email you when it’s shipped. you can check the grades then by clicking this icon > Screen Shot 2022-02-10 at 10.01.57 AM

Thanks for the info. I emailed them as well. I don’t care for it personally. Don’t tell me somethings graded and then don’t provide it. I guess I’ll know in a few days.

no problem, anytime. I hear you though, it’s a tease.

Ahh does it say “labels” on the invoice? Cause that’s usually when they get out label and put it in the slab. When my normal submission was in that stage it took them like 2 months to finally move to shipped lol

I know someone who sends books to CBCS and gets annoyed with the lag of the grade uploading.

They usually call customer service gives them the Invoice number and gets the grade over the phone even before it gets uploaded in system.

Unless something has changed and it’s a new system in place.

If you really need to know the grade worth a phone call try.

It is now in billing. I had a prescreen for pressing and they just now charged me for the actual fast pressing. I paid a handsome sum to get it back fast so I should have it in hand shortly.

I’m sure even their database entries go through a check/validation process….you don’t want a bunch of single point failures there…otherwise someone fat fingers 9.8 and it arrives 9.6. That would be a headache for CBCS. When it gets to that point shipment is typically a day or two away.

The whole grading process take s long…,they’re just letting you know things are moving along and getting close. I think most people like that level of Information and can wait a day or two for the actual grade. The anticipation gets them all excited too!

Or maybe the delay avoids the inevitable phone calls asking they not ship it out and regrade it because someone doesn’t like the end result.

Think about it this way; people want to know the grades they get asap. I get that. But what is the benefit to CBCS to releasing that information prior to shipment? It’s just asking for unwanted phone calls, IMO.

People complain about poor customer service response of these grading companies. Well, maybe that person should think about the possibility they are 10th in line behind 9 people who can’t wait another 24 hrs for their grades….

They just need to not send an email or send it later. It’s a tease to send out an email saying it’s finished grading, being encapsulated & will ship out in a few days and not mention the grade. Just a very minor annoyance really.

At least they’re sending out some type of communication of the status…

Well @ToddW is right they shouldn’t tease just post grade when you email the customer its been graded or shipped.

The customer service dept are trying their best while being short staffed.

My NM98 ended up being a 9.2. Around where I thought it would be.

Everyone knows you’re not supposed to peak! the books need to “cook” until they arrive at your door to get the best grade.

I’ve gotten many a 9.8 using this method…
