CGC pickups

This will be a very lucrative flip

Just love the idea of Kamandi’s world. It’s great that DC has kept the character in continuity. He still occasionally appears in time-travelling stories. That cover is just sweet!

Wow, how much did you pay for this book?

Paid $800 but it got cancelled 2 days later place said their inventory wasn’t update.

Funny how that works… I hate it when I score a deal and then the seller figures out they underpriced something and don’t follow through with the sale.

Probably a longshot to see Spiral on the big screen but the new X-men animated will hopefully bring her back for an episode.

Got a box back the other day. Wanted to get in on the new labels. The Spider-Gwen 3 1:25 Putri is pretty rare, so I was happy about the 9.8. Only the 2nd on the census. The #2 1:25 and GameStop variant in 9.8 is a tough one too. Most will be for sale, a few for the PC.

Interesting how most everything is 9.8 except the Edge, in which everything (all 3) are 9.2.

Yeah out of 4 5th prints, 1 9.8 and 3 9.2s. The 9.2s had bad corner crunches that I pressed out but they broke color. They were BAD. One of the GameStop variants came back 9.6 and 1st print EOS2 came back 9.6 but isn’t pictured bec it isn’t mine. Overall 20/25 9.8.

Got another batch back yesterday. The highlight for me is the sorcerer supreme 32 from 1991. Also love the tod1 and action1 homages. There was also a Kanan 6 9.8 that isn’t pictured bec it wasn’t mine, just pressed it for someone. Anyone who reads my posts on here knows why I sent in those Monsters Unleashed 12s  I have lots of raw copies so I figured I should slab at least a couple. Lots of Spider-Verse too :spider_web:

Curious how is the return time from CGC these days?

Nice job on your books!

Moderns are about two months without fast track, and with FT a couple of weeks. Economy is the worst right now, def fast track if you’re sending those, and even with FT I’ve had books there for a month already.

I have a batch of modern books that took almost exactly 2 months from when they were noted in the system. They are on their way back to me and I will share them when they are here!

Just for comparison,

CBCS is 224 working days TAT Moderns. That’s a year… 14 days w/Express. But express cost $60!!! So a new express is $80. Modern w/express is $84

CGC is $24 modern, 55 working days (11 weeks). Fast pass is 20 days and $15.

So normal submissions are the same price, but you’ll have your books back in 30 less weeks with CGC.

With express it’s $39 vs. $80 for the same service, and only 6 working days difference.

I know CGC has their issues at the moment…but Does CBCs want to stay in business??? There’s is a totally flawed business model, IMO. Or they just don’t want to grade new/moderns anymore and therefore discourage such customers away or make you wait or pay through the nose.

This is the only reasoning that makes sense to me.

Where’s the fun in grading something that just rolled off the print press anyways? I would hate to get stuck grading moderns, they have zero personality. The older books that have been passed around a few times have more character and are probably way more fun to actually grade.

Love me some hit girl
