I plan early
Its gorgeous and Iād like one for the old PC. Iāve also been eyeing that eBay listing, but have had packaging issues that led to my books being damaged in transit when Iāve bought from Drewbizz in the past. Iāve heard rumours that the Drewbizz eBay seller and comicxposure are the same person, which could explain the quality issues. I would say, on the off chance itās true you can always wait it out. A ceeling has been set on eBay. Db/Cx has a TON of copies listed at that price.
I wouldnt worry about the price. Since there is a 1:500 for the issue, the bottom is gonna drop out on the 1:25. Should be plenty of them for cheap.
Drewbizz is the epitome of everything wrong with our hobby, imo. Buyer beware of you are dealing with him.
@monopolyjackson is correct too. Not only does ASM49 (850 LGY) have the 1:500, it is the 850th issue of ASM, and as such, there will probably be a few store variants. The 1:25 will be plentiful at any one of these stores doing a store variant, as these stores would qualify for a minimum of 120 copies of the 1:25.
Great info from everyone. Thank you
This is one of those times you wait about 6 months and youāll find the ratio variant you want at 80-90% off the original retailer asking priceā¦ unlessā¦
There happens to be some first appearance of a character that skyrockets into popularity but even then, history shows thatās normally not the case.
Itās not like I havenāt made this same mistake tons of times already. Itās good to have people to talk you down from the ledge.
Unlike most, I donāt have problems with store variants. I find those are more about the Art than the book itself. If I see a cover I like, I buy it and flip or keep it in the PC. The volatility in that part of the market makes this profitable, for me at least. (It also helps to have your own press to submit for grading)
Yup, buy what you likeā¦ donāt buy what you donāt like.
Sometimes store variants can be flippedā¦ and then sometimes buy a store variant to support the store (which is a great way for shops to raise revenue so they stay in business).
I couldnāt agree more
Thatās how I am getting most of my Venom ratio variantsā¦ So many, most actually, can be found under ratio right now, some significantly under ratioā¦#3 1:25 is definitely the exception to all that.
Book would be astronomical if Knull was on the cover of the 1:25 or it was better Venom art.
Iāve thought that tooā¦I do think that is why so many gravitated toward the 3rd print.
Thatās horrible advice to give to a speculator or flipper. Lol. Buy stuff you donāt like as well. For one reason itās easier to get rid of because you donāt like it. Another would be you miss out on potential big money because youāre not into it.
I never liked the phrase āBuy what you likeā.
I say ābuy what you think will make you some moneyā.
The saying ābuy what you likeā is in reference to never being disappointed. It is not advice for a flipper, imo. If I buy a book that I donāt like, with the intention of flipping it, and it never heats up or never sells, then Iām stuck w/ a book that I donāt even like. If I only buy books that I like, whether stuck with them or not, then the disappointment factor will diminish significantly regardless of the outcome.
We cater to allā¦ Not just flippers.
And its okay to miss out, a speculator will not hit every hot spec and flip potential book. There will always be others.
Without questionā¦In todayās market the next big thing is only a few days away.
Iāve avoided all the recent Punchline stuff as I donāt find her character at all interesting. I got the early cameos and read them then sold them for a tidy profit, yes, but then I realized I was gonna sit out any of the 1:25 variants of her or other characters in this new event as it was leaving me cold.
I went through some short boxes today and noticed that in some (not all) the comics had spine damaged. Which I know they didnāt have before. Does any one know why?
I think itās because Iām putting to many books in one box but not sure?
Pics? Iāve had the same happen but itās when the comics can slide cause itās not entirely fullā¦
