I stopped shipping international. I was doing global shipping, then people ask you to bundle multiple items since global shipping doesn’t have that option. So you need to make a new listing for them. Then complain about the additional costs for import duties their country charges (pre-tariff) and ask me to comp them.
Until Ebay figures out a way for (Global Shipping) international buyers to add multiple items from the same seller into a cart and is transparent about the imports fees I’ve opted out.
Honestly I prefer international shipping through eBay over domestic. If the buyer has any issues eBay takes care of it out of there money not yours. It’s a no brainer.
It is certainly a no brainer for the seller, but not so much for the buyer. As someone that is international (at least Canada is for now…), I never buy comics from sellers using the international program, the costs are double or triple what shipping would normally be. I’ve seen shipping as high as 45USD for a single comic. Mostly it is about 25USD.
I can say I buy most books from UK if I’m buying international, not the US. Just something to keep in mind if you are expecting a giant rush of customers. It may be different for outside of North America where the prices are somewhat equal.
I recently made an international sale, and the item was stuck in custom for many weeks. the buyer opened a item not received case and received a full refund. however what happens if the items clears custom and is delivered to the buyer. the item was for over $650, i am covered by ebay global shipping program. has anyone had a similar experience.
If it clears customs they may get it. Here’s the thing, it may not be in great shape after being handled by customs. At least you got your money. And if the reject the item, who knows, you could get it back.
I’m not sure how it works for international, but if an item gets “stuck” in transit and the buyer requests an item not delivered, be sure to file a missing package report and have it returned to your address if found.
If you scroll up, I’m sure my story is there where unmade the mistake of having the found item sent to the buyer. They got their refund, and the item when it eventually turned up.
I have a question and could use some help on this. I sold a book to a seller with 100% feedback, so things look good. He messaged me this morning and asked if I would accept a return. The book is still in the mail on the way to the buyer. I have on each item that I dont accept returns but I’m not actually not completely against it. What do you more experienced sellers do? And if so, how does it work? Thanks!
Just work with them. Tell them the book is still in transit, upon receipt, keep it in the original packaging and send it back for refund. Then you know they’re not swapping the goods as well.
I had a guy buy a FOMO book then tell me after I shipped (but not yet received) it that he found it cheaper and would like to return it. I said ok but at your expense. He returned the book with no issues and left me positive feedback. Sometimes it’s easier to take the return than fight it.
The amount of orders I’ve had recently that had to be cancelled for whatever reason is more than I’ve ever had before, don’t know if that’s my luck or an eBay trend. Last week was a guy who bought a set of 1-4 and then cancelled by saying he had really only needed #1 anyway and found it in his collection…yesterday an auction was canceled and relisted because the buyer didn’t pay or respond to any messages after a week; that’s probably the 3rd or 4th time in the last few months I’ve had that happen. 2025 is interesting haha
