Thanks for the advice. If I agree to a return, does he trigger it or do I?
The buyer triggers the return request through Ebay.
Yup, just accept for any reason I say. But they gotta return the goods though for refund.
I’d really emphasize that since they decided they did not want it while it’s in transit, don’t open the package, just put new label over old one to return. This way you know it’s the original book.
Crazy. I had someone attempt to cancel an order this morning but I had already dropped it off at the post office so couldn’t approve it. These are strange times. Hoping things start getting “back to normal” after SDCC.
Tell them not to open it and write “return to sender” on the package and have it sent back. At least that way someone isn’t paying return shipping. Your refund should be minus the shipping as well. They should pay for that since they obviously are changing their mind having not even inspected the book.
Ah yeah… most forget, the postage paid also covers the return shipping when a package or letter is refused.
What happens when an ebay order is ready for pickup but the buyer intentionally does not pick it up.
i have an order sitting there for close to a week.
Eventually USPS or whoever should send it back to you.
what happens to the ebay transaction? am i required to give a refund, given the buyer refused accepting the package.
Are you sure it was intentional? Did the buyer state their intentions?
I sent him an email about the package and no response.
Might have to contact eBay to find out what the next steps are.
When this happened to me (buyer refused delivery), eBay said it voided the buyers protection and that I don’t need to send a refund.
The buyer didn’t respond to my messages. When I received the package back, I messaged the buyer again and they finally responded saying they had moved and forgot to update their address. Of course I refunded them regardless of what eBay said because I got the package back unopened.
I clearly don’t understand how ebay fees are calculated. Two of the books I sold this week were identical. The same book. $25 each. Shipping was $5.70 each. ebay fees were $4.84 for one and $4.81 for the other. What am I missing?
Taxes are different for location
taxes
The fact that eBay charges you fees on taxes, money they collect that you never see, sucks.
Yeah, I can’t say I knew they did that. So, I get charged a fee on my income, my shipping (which is a cost), and the buyer’s tax, which makes zero sense to my non-accountant brain. Neat.
Taxes.
