It will likely get deducted from your reported income but eBay does add it to the total along with taxes when calculating your final value fee, so it still screws you in a way. I don’t understand how eBay gets away with it. Final value fee should only be based on what you collect.
For a split second, I thought the country of Georgia; not state.
Can you imagine that USPS Tracking?
Maryland → Georgia (country) → Illinois
That trail would take the all time cake
Wonder if the person is somehow has an official address outside the country, but has it shipped to a US address.
I dunno…throwing darts. I shipped to someone a few towns over recently, even though their profile had them in another country.
I didn’t check to see if there was VAT…I’ll see if I can find out. They bought like 5 comics from me…mostly It’s Jeff and Marvel Rivals stuff…
Mine goes to Georgia. I think it is regional. But who knows. Maybe Georgia ships to one part of the world and Illinois to another.
I listed a copy of Red Hood 36 Putri on eBay for $40. I have three offers in. Each for $34, and the three are from China, London, and Denmark.
WTF?
Don’t do it.
If you use the International Shipping program through eBay there’s little risk. As long as it reaches ebay they take responsibility for any issues the buyer claims to have or actually has. I prefer international over domestic due to that fact.
Well. I know this guy is going to be a problem. Started off by offering half price on a book I had listed.
I responded at 20% off (I am in on this book at like $3 at best)
He waits almost the full 24 hours and then purchases while I am out at dinner. While driving home I get this.
18 minutes after the sale asks for the tracking number……
Y’know… I often wonder what percentage of the country is truly “out in left field” with little capability of functioning in the world; and yet somehow they do get by. This would be one of them; unless he’s just an impatient jackass which could also be very possible
You realize the sentence that should always follow this is “I proceeded to decline the offer and block the buyer.”
The one time I did not listen to that advice ended up with a return.
Honestly, you’re too nice. I would have ignored it. Let them learn a little thing called patience…
I should have. Like I said though I only have like $3 in on it. So responded with a reasonable offer
At least he asked nicely.
I got another request for a return today. Not a comic though.
I got a blue tooth OBD2 reader for my birthday. So I decided to put my older one up for sale. I recently used it to diagnose a thermostat issue. I tested it out literally the moment before I put it in the box to ship. Lots of bubble wraps.
Today I get a request for return/refund without warnings. Ebay already approved it. Followed by this message.
I followed up asking a few questions…basically testing the person’s knowledge if they even know how to use one. You need to turn the car’s power on for it to read a code…otherwise you get a blank screen. But he said he knows how to use one…but I’m not confident he did it right.
Well, it’s on its way back regardless so I can’t wait to plug it in and send him a photo of it working.
If it does work, I’m not refunding shipping either way if I can’t avoid it.
Kind of a crappy message to you too. But yeah, if it does work do not refund shipping.
He checked the code on his car, only needed it for 10 minutes and then wants a refund and for you to pay shipping back.
Honestly, any auto parts place will do that for free…so seems like a lot of effort if that was the reason.
