After reading this, I can’t complain about my ebay problems anymore. That sucks.
What book was it?
House of slaughter 1, luckily I found a buyer for them. Still a pain in the ass to order based off presales and someone cancels after FOC but before release. And eBay is like you have 3 days to respond or we will automatically refund them.
Yeah, Ebay could care less about sellers.
Because it’s all about keeping buyers coming back and happy… they know all you people will keep on listing and selling stuff because you love to punish yourselves daily with shitty buyers, with a little bit of humiliation some days…
After this morning’s exchange, I might put myself on the banned seller list… but some of you might enjoy the story.
I have a book listed for $45 or best offer - sold 3 of them at $40-45. I get a $35 offer (which is less than the lowest competing BIN at $40). I counter at $40 since that’s really market price. They come back with a $31 offer ($4 lower than the previous). I decline. Then they send me a $33 offer (again, lower than their initial offer). I decline again, and take best offer off the listing because I’m done with this goofball.
Then they email me saying they can buy it anywhere for $35 and they’re doing me a favor, and since I bought the sold out exclusive at $20 6 months ago I should count it as a win as the prices are dropping. Needless to say I rejected that offer.
On top of it, I did a search to price check myself and saw one pop up as a new listing at $20 shipped. ** SO I BOUGHT IT ** — I’m petty.
F. that guy and his $35.
Did you put the buyers name in the top post to warn others so they can add to their own banned lists?
I didn’t… he’s not ban worthy, he’s just looking for a deal… but going back on your initial offer never sits well with me
Sounds ban worthy to me. Anyone who spends that much effort in throwing lowball offers doesn’t deserve to buy from me to save me the hassle. These are the types if something goes wrong, they’ll make you pay for it in other ways…
This right here is why I would ban them. Purposely coming back with a lower offer is an aggressive d*ck move. Which they then double-confirmed with the “I’m doing you a favor” garbage.
Yup, exactly the reasons I would want to ban them.
I would never say something like this to anyone when buying something. It’s just effin’ tacky!
brideb_0 was the attempted buyer3
So, is this ban worthy?
Buyer purchased a listing of mine overnight. Early AM, he asks for a cancellation, as he has the wrong address on that account. If I relist, he’ll buy it with correct account. I assume BS, but I don’t want to sell it to that person anyway. I cancel and relist. No attempts to re-purchase. He clearly just wanted to cancel. I don’t appreciate the BS story.
Got a strong offer from another buyer and grabbed that, so it’s all good. But, this feels like a punt. Had he been honest (“Found a better price elsewhere, was hammered when I purchased…”) I would have just cancelled and been ok with it.
Yup, ban worthy for sure.
I would ban someone for that kind of behavior.
Appreciate the validation. Buyer is now B L O C K E D.
Who is the buyer to block ? Thanks !
I don’t think I should respond to this, but petty me wants to scream “so shipping in a Mylar, with another free book as padding, inside a bubble sleeve, in a Gemini mailer, inside a priority envelope is what you consider “using a USPS sleeve”?!?!?!?
Dumbass. Complaining about that shipping frustrates me. If I didn’t do all that, USPS would have mangled it completely.
we got pretty lucky here. the box was pretty damaged all the way through, including the extra comic you packed in. the mylar sleeve protected it from damage just barely, there does seem to be a tiny nick on the top left. it’s almost imperceptible so i’m not upset or anything but you might want to consider using comic mailers instead of USPS sleeves in the future
What does he call the gemini shipper? Is that not a “comic mailer”?
