eBay Seller/Buyer Avoid List

I’ve had several of these. eBay treats the auction process like paying is optional. Not much you can do, but relist. BUT… do make sure when eBay asks you to rate the process, you make it clear your time and theirs has been wasted, and both you and eBay have lost out on revenue.

It’s why I don’t do auctions. Too many people say their kid hit the button or some such crap.

Yeah, I’m not seeing an option to make an offer to the 2nd highest bidder. Guess I’ll just run it again. What a PITA!

That does suck

Part of me wonders if someone was just driving the price for the book up, but that only works if it still registers as a sale even after it’s been cancelled.

Coh502. Purchased a book and said he isn’t happy. It’s too far above market price.

What does that even mean?

Is he saying it’s lower grade than advertised? Or is he saying the market has receded since he bought it, and wants you to take the hit for it.

I’m confused because usually you are quick to sell books before they hit their peak…

Rook 3 sold for $29.99. He bought it and Rook 2 for $19.99. I realized I sold my last Rook 2 on eBay the day before. I contacted him and said I was out of stock and I could cancel or just refund. No reply. Refund issued. He said he was expecting a partial refund for combined shipping and didn’t realize I sent him a refund for rook 2. I sent him the messages. He came back and said he never would have purchased it for that price alone and that I was wayyyy over market value. I listed it at that price 5 months ago. He purchased it at that price. I said sen it back and I will refund. He even admitted that ebay messages were bad and he may have missed it.

I always “show receipts”. I always treat buyers with respect. They do not always like what they hear but I remain calm and cool. I do not offer partial refunds. After sending the buyer everything I had I got this message.

I’m confused. Did he request an invoice with combined shipping, or did he pay individual shipping for each.

If he requested an invoice…he would not have paid until you told him the price…and that would have been minus the second book and shipping cost. A large amount.

If he paid for both in full separately, while “expecting”
a partial refund without ever reaching out to you asking for it…that’s lame.

I don’t know If there’s a third possible scenario there…but it sounds like #2.

Basically what he is saying is that he was willing to pay your $30, but only if you discounted the shipping by some unknown amount you didn’t know about much less agree to, nor did he even attempt to disclose before buying. Thats crazy…as inevitably we’re talking $3 savings maybe?

He bought both and requested an invoice. Then went ahead and paid. I combined them and was going to refund the shipping on the second book. I went to pull the books and messaged him the one was sold out. Waited for a response and then went ahead and did a full refund including the shipping on that book.
