Found this in a antique market for $2, my best find of 2025 so far.
Nice, I actually have a really good collection of British Captain Marvel Comics
That is a cool cover.
I got these 2 for 6 bucks total.
The Batman Adventures were .99 cents.
The rest of the these were. 50 cents each. Whenever I see indie stuff if itās a complete run and .50 cents each I will pick it up even if I have no idea what it is. Some of it turns out to be a good read and some of it is worth some money.
That taskmaster looks pretty high grade.
The local show I went to today was mostly a dud. Crazy busy, which is a good sign. But, not a ton of dollar bins to dig through, surprisingly. I only bought a couple books.
My favorite book of the day is this C cover for Beauty, signed by the three creators. I figured if this hits a TV/movie someday, cool. Otherwise, I like what Iāve read from the story so far, and this will look nice in the PC.
I loved Beauty. Was a very solid series.
I liked what I read of it then fell behind on a lot of stuff. Need to finish this.
Went to the elitecomics11 expo yesterday and it was really good. They did a great job inviting local shops and out of state vendors that they do live shows on their IG with. Was trippy hearing Georgia and Tennessee accents in Queens ![]()
Got some good deals and did some trading. I actually really enjoy trading at shows, I feel like itās a lost art and not a lot of vendors are open to it unless they get to rape you. The dealer I traded with gave me 90% of last sold in trade value which helped us close the deal.
Hereās everything I picked up:
Putri covers
Keys
1st Sabrina and the best looking 3.0 Iāve seen
Goodness, a busy day!
Did you get them all from the same dealer?
Great score in the Marvel Spotlight. Did you pull the Red Hood from a dollar bin? ![]()
This show has been advertised a lot around me, but price of admission and it being a very long day (it would be about a 4 hr round trip)ā¦well, Iām going to save that for NYCC. I also have Terrificon this summer practically in my backyard (about 10 min drive). So gotta pick my battles!
The madhouse, ASM 124 and Spider-Gwen were from the same dealer who I made the trade with. The others were each from a different dealer.
I agree that $20 admission was steep, but I figured thatās what itād cost to ship my Steranko signing books to CGC, so I submitted them at the show and it was essentially a wash.
Is terrificon the one at Mohegan? Iām hoping to go this year.
Yes. Mohegan. If youāre not into throwing your money away at exclusives, you can gamble it away in the casino.
Just donāt forget to grab a pizza pie at Pepeās.
Yep⦠was Elite expo today as well.
But my full and 100% concentration was on Vincent DāOnofrio autographs
How much were the Autoās? Graded and raw?
I was curious about that, but I donāt have a kingpin book that was likely worth getting signed.
How long were the lines? Was it a madhouse?
Not a madhouse at all.
I waited on line for about an hour maybe? Somewhere around there.
His autoās were $80 apiece and he took the time to chat with everyone that wanted to chat.
CGC witness guy was on the line the whole time to give you one of those CGC tamper free bags
I had purchased a couple of the Ross Timeless Kingpin covers for a few bucks, a few weeks ago to be prepared.
ahhh⦠youāre seeing a vision of a James Gunn Ambush Bug too huh?
Iāve purchased close to 20 high grade of those DC Comic Presents since Gunn was heading the charge.
It may not pan out, but if it does, and our visions are correct⦠then BOOM!
Yep! I donāt have as many copies as you but every time I find a NM copy for $5 or so Iāll grab it. Itās been surprisingly tough to find high grade copies in the wild. If theyāre not NM I pass. Even if the spec doesnāt play out, itās a desirable book, shouldnāt be tough to move.
Thatās awesome that you got the autographs. I couldnāt go today, I went yesterday.
