I like what you got! (Goodwills, Thrift Stores, Yard Sales, ETC Finds)

Agreed. And, I’m almost the opposite. I don’t know a ton about bronze and silver books outside of the obvious ones. I’m never buying wall books because, like you said, they are always overpriced or cheaper elsewhere. Plus, I’m not buying any expensive books since prices have collapsed the past 3 years.

I’m really a reader first, and it’s just easier to read modern books. Easier to get, shorter runs, etc. I’m a seller second, and maybe a collector third. I’m a bargain collector, really. Now, the PC is up to 7k books, and I’m running out of room. January might be another thin the collection a bit month.

Complete Garbage. Throw it in the trash!

I bought my grail, an ASM 14, literally from the profits off flipping dollar bin and modern books I bought less than $5. It took me 6 months, but it was essentially free in the end.

Jokes on them.

I’ve been better about listing stuff lately…and lately I can’t keep up…the lady at the post office is starting to give me the stink eye…

Great pickups! I myself am more excited by the newsstand copy of the Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #1. Any other newsstands in the pickups?

I’ve had such little time to look through these, I hadn’t even noticed that! THANKS!

I’ll be sure to go through the whole lot. But, it’s 377 books, and I hit a fantastic dollar sale today that had 300 long boxes. Bought a bunch of stuff there, too. So, I’ll be in processing mode for a week or two.

Just two Newsstands in the lot, but two good ones.

I’m probably going to list both of these, because the $$$ are just too nice.

No raw All-New Spidey newsstands on eBay. The best graded ones are 8.5s between $400-550. This COULD be better than an 8.5. I might put this up for $400

Only 1 Amazing Spidey 678 newsstand on eBay. $120. My copy has some spine issues and desperately needs a press. But, with a press, it could be really solid. Maybe $100 for this?

What do you think? I’m really not interested in having either graded, as I’m just sorta over CGC and graded books in general.

Here’s what I found with a Quick Look.

$400 seems a bit high?

So Joe says all the 8.5s are between $400 and $500 which I also found and his is likely better than 8.5. You find an 8.0 at $200 and think it’s too low? That $185 I found and it looks like it’s beat to hell… . but then again, while it’s probably lower than an 8.0, CGC might think differently… haha!

The real kicker is, what’s actually sold and the only one that has sold from my quick lookup was a really beat up newsstand for $89.95…

I say list at $400, you got nothing to lose. Or if you got this basically for pennies on the dollar, just do an auction and let people go cray cray on it… I’m sure you’ll make profit no matter.

And we’re missing the corner in the pic but that comic looks damn nice. If i were to grade it from the pic alone, I’d say it’s at least 9.6 or better, pending any other issues not seen in the photo.

That Black Cover in any version is difficult in high grade, subjectively. It’s not in my collection but towards the top of my wishlist. A lot of nice pickups and any rare modern newsstands always catch my attention.

Not telling anyone what they should do. Just providing examples of the same book with some defects in an 8.0-9.0 range, and they’re not getting $400. More like $200 ish.

Can’t hurt to list it at $400…but I’d expect it to sit for a while…maybe not sell.

Was the newsstand in a polybag like the direct? Those bags tended to wreck the book.

Also, these books get “cracks” running along the spine and scratches and color loss from backing boards. Those will drop a grade fast, but don’t seem to bother many raw as they tend to not look too close.

Well, considering that only one has sold on eBay in past 30+ days, sure… that goes for a lot of books currently. The Miles hype has cooled off a bit but there will always be fans.

But for me also, getting book like this for pennies, I myself would probably just to an auction and start it at maybe $20 or so… I’m willing to bet you’ll get more involved once they discover they might snag at a decent price and hope they get into bidding wars cause we all know people hate to lose once they actually bid.

I dunno, that’s a gamble that could go wonderfully or woefully. These newsies aren’t common and like ToddW said, these are hella hard to find without crummy spines.

Whatever you do, Joe, good luck. I’d probably keep that one around until a Miles is announced for the MCU.

Saw a Facebook Marketplace post. Bought a big box full of random comics for $100. Was listed for $150 but they were willing to go down a bit if I was gonna just buy it sight unseen. Met them and tossed it in the trunk. Got home and dug through it. Not too much of note at first but then found the diamond in the rough. Spider-Man Noir #1, newsstand edition. Probably 8.0 VF or so. Gonna look for buyers among folks I know to avoid eBay fees for such a notable and potentially sought after title. I know some newsstand lovers go nuts for the rarer ones.

Came across these beauties at a local craft/collector show. Some great Frazetta covers. Got them all and a bunch of filler comics and stack of minor keys for $100. They were in such nice condition too.

1st appearance of Dreadstar in that Epic Illustrated #3. Nice pickup. Was a hot book back in the day and I’ve always liked that cover.
