I like what you got! (Goodwills, Thrift Stores, Yard Sales, ETC Finds) šŸ”Ž

He’s been a repeat customer for me too. He low balls, but I’ve gotten him to bundle books for a better deal. The last few days he’s been messaging me about my Nightwing 54 as well (the Putri variant). He offered $65 I think? Which is a really low start point for negotiating on this book. So I told him $300. He said for that price he can buy many books in China. I told him that could be the case, but not in NYC

Then why aren’t you buying in china? Oh that’s right, you’re probably lying and buying these here and selling for much more profit there…

My friend! lol

I bought a small collection yesterday, mostly sight unseen. But, he said it was mostly 2010 Marvel, so I hoped for some Miles stuff. Sadly, no. But, I think it was still worth it. $80 for two short boxes that came out to be 293 books and 6 trades.

I mostly bought it because I knew this one trade was in there, and it seems like it sells for $60-80 alone.

I wanted to read 100 Bullets, so that was a nice add.

A few of these spawns were a bit bent, so not flawless. But, a nice bunch. I saw 172 and 173 and hoped for 174 (Gunslinger), but nope. Still good.

These are all in great condition. Not nearly as valuable as they were a couple years back.

This is a nothing Hulk issue, but damn that’s a fantastic cover. Keeping it just for that.

Then about 50 issues of Punisher Max, a bunch of Wolverine, Iron Man, 30 Captain America, Alias, Hulk, Daredevil, etc. If any of you collect those, let me know. I’m going to get them cleaned up a bit and added to my dollar boxes.

Overall, a fairly productive buy.

It’s that time of year to start scouring Craigslist for yard/garage sales.

It’s always good when the listing is misspelled and the Craigslist search engine from literally 1995  doesn’t show this listing for other comic scavengers searchers.
We’ll see what happens but I’ll be there bright and early. 10 minutes from my house and just caught it by chance.

Looking forward to your report!

Craigslist: Sure, there have been advances in html code best practices since 1999, but we don’t care.

Yeah but with all the other stuff in the description you got other collectors coming as well. I.mean vintage toys? Uhm yeah

Struck out this a.m.
I guess showing up literally 1 hour earlier than published start time is not good enough :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I don’t think any of the recognizable ā€œeven earlier than me dudesā€ got anything since they had nothing in their hands leaving, when I arrived.

80’s Legion of Superheroes, Justice League, Fury of Firestorm, - you get the picture.
Yard Sale organizer did say he had many more comics inside he’s not selling, so clearly he was just selling his 80’s drek.

Oh well - Strike 1 for the year.

Another yard sale this coming weekend. Only a few miles from me again.
Wrote down the address, put in my google calendar, looked back up at the picture for hints of other comics in the picture, then I looked to the far right of the picture

I then threw the address on the post-it in the garbage. Deleted the the google calendar entry, and took strike 2 this year without the pitch even being thrown

Hit a smaller show today. Everything below was $1 or 50 cents, and 90% was 50 cents. Adding images here in a minute…

18 SIKTC issues, all 50 cents

Monstress 1 for a $1 was an odd find. We Live 1A in the 50 cent bin hurts my soul.

Star Wars spec is currently dead, but for 50 cents? I can still hope. Southern Bastards might have some legs once a trailer hits.

50 center Geigers… ok

50 center Batgirl(s)… ok

Doug Mahnke was at the show. Got this set signed.

Went to Yard Sale this morning; only held on a Sunday so barely anyone there.
Had sole access to a comic box.
Nothing to write home about but lots of $4 → $8 for a buck each.

The part that bothered me is that there were tons of Manga book including box sets and TPB’s.
In the words of Sgt Schultz ā€œI know nothingā€ about Manga, so had to leave them there.
I need to step up my Manga game. I know there’s value in some stuff

He had a Complete Box set of Full Alchemist - looked untouched.
He was asking $125.
I see now on Ebay I should have made an offer
Oh well

Not too late to go back… end of the day on Sunday you can get some deals…

Yeaa… thought about taking out the phone and spot checking a bunch.
Honestly it makes me uneasy doing that long term at a yard sale. I’ll do to check my beliefs on a few items, but he literally had over 100 Manga related items. I just didn’t feel right going through every book in front of the couple.
I’ve had instances when they double check themselves as well if they see I’m looking at every thing for sale they have with my phone. And then problems ensue.
