Totally asking for that…I also saw there was a Funko…that’s been around a while.

Have made $75 off this lot already, so small profit and paid off. Still have a bunch more to sell.

Not even on “Beach Day” does Batman takes off his mask lol

Hit up a bunch of shops over the weekend.

Shop A

The Kung Fu Fighter 5 is really clean, probably NM… paid $38. Junkyard Joe was on the hunt list so I picked it up for $5. The K.O. Mora 2nd prints were cover.

Shop B

Everything here was 50% off, paid $17 for everything.

Got a couple of Mora final issues. Red hood 52 and Batman Beyond 50 that @D-Rog brought to my attention. Some more Dan Mora world’s finest and red hood/Nightwing variants. Last sale on that red hood 42 variant was $30.

Also found red hood 33/34 which were mentioned on the forum.

Shop C

Bruce Timm cover & 1st Inque for $5 each.
Another Batman 145 Putri variant for cover.
Street Fighter #1 gold variant for $45. It’s at least NM+, really happy to find that one right after that teaser trailer dropped.

Went looking for some Absolute Superman 1 4th print. Came up empty handed on that but found 2x first prints. A DC KO #1 2nd print and several Absolute Batman #1 reprints selling for $14-$19 each. Spent way more than I needed to but will get my money back on this buy easily.

I need to post some of my finds from a comic crawl I did Monday…maybe I’ll get to it tomorrow…maybe wrapping gifts will motivate me to take some pics and break it down…I got a lot of books and some stories to go with.

FYI, tomorrow is a Mora cover for Immortal Batman 6 with the joker on the cover…doing the split face that has kind of become his thing.

When a shop is closing and everything is 70% off, including the dollar books.

More or less have pillaged my LCS’s within a 1 hr drive…so starting to venture out a little further when I have a free day and do sort of a comic crawl. That was this Monday’s adventure.

Sorry for the long write-up. If you’re not interested in reading about the shops I visited and deals, just scroll through.

The first stop was Simsbury Cards and Comics. A little shop in the North/Central part of CT…when I initially walked in, I did not expect much…they had a decent number of long boxes of back issues, but I saw no new comics on racks…I don’t think they offer any. And many were not priced, which is always a flag. But it was cover or as priced.

Turns out they had a few cool books, including my favorite find of the day for the PC - Geiger #6 2nd print! It has a fair amount of color rub on the front cover I’m hoping I can dry clean off, but otherwise looks great.

Paid cover except for the a Geiger book ($20) and $6 for the Batgirl 13.

Second stop was a Newbury Comics in Northampton, MA. A chain store, Sometimes found in Malls. They typically have just newer issues from the past several months…but figured I’d see if they had and Absolute Batman back issues or the DC KO Mora cover. The thing is they tend to stack these comics in racks to the point people bend them over to flip through….so back issue often end up with many spine bends.

Well, pretty much struck out but did find this 1:10 incentive of Everything Dead and Dying #1 which I don’t see any on eBay….being it survived any damage and was cover price I rescued it.

Third stop was a place called His and Hers Comics in Greenfield, MA. Pretty small shop in a pretty small, but quaint, town in Northern/Central MA.A decent selection of newer back issues, Unfortunately they were about to have a big blow out sale this Friday (12/26) and they put a lot of their comics from the past year or so in long boxes…and no one was allowed to go through them (No Peeking). So if you’re in the area, maybe check it out. I would not be surprised if there are some hot Mora books in those long boxes because of how remote their location is.

Anyway…I did find a few books for flips. This shop is mentioned often by Mike of Lunch Money Comics (if you follow his you tube channel). I mentioned he was the reason I ventured that far north and apparently if you name drop him and it’s your first visit you get a 15% discount! That (and no sales tax) I pretty much walked out paying cover price for all books.

Last stop was That’s Entertainment in Worcester, MA. A store a lot like Newburys comics, but more specialized in used pop culture collectibles, Comics, Vinyl, video games, toys…something for everyone. Long isles of bins. Many comics do not have backing boards…but I may have done my best work here.

Some x-force w/Deadpool cards ($3.99). Can’t pass on Geiger Ground Zero for cover…and I’ll always pick up Simpsons Treehouse of Horror for under $10 if in decent shapes

I just sold my last copy of Nightwing 52…and found two more this day.

Possible my best find of the day…Futurama
#1 for $10…I need to examine closer but could be a 9.8 candidate (which can sell north of $300). Specter #62 is the last issue and fetches decent money.

Batman 244, classic Neal Adams cover for $10? Every day as long as it’s complete. This is probably good condition, but even low grades can fetch $40. This one is for the PC though.

They had 3 of the 4 issues of Batman Year 2, but these two were in the best shape (potential NM or higher). I’ve been wanting these for the PC for a while…so was happy to pay $12 each.

After that it was a quick trip to the Herbert Candy retail shop for some stocking stuffers and home. Full days with of work!

Starting to look for AWW 1st prints, 2nd printing of 1. Grabbed an AGL #1 but couldn’t find any AMM.

Found a mix of beefcake, Mora covers I haven’t seen before and grabbed an Immortal Batman 3.

Nice catch on that Robin Lives #2.

I did not know about Robin Lives #2. It pairs up with Batman & Robin #10, it would seem.

Pick-ups from my last hunt of 2025, not too bad

First hunt of 2026. Stopped at a shop within an hour that I somehow haven’t stopped in before…

Anyway…a lot the moderns were on racks that have a horizontal bar holding them in, and they were sandwiched in tight so they had some serious spine ticks. People just bend the books over without thinking what they are doing.

But the damaged ones in NM sell high enough that even copies with ticks should net a decent profit. It was really just Batgirl 7 and the two more expensive Tim Drakes. Everything else was bagged/boarded or spared.

Anyway. The Spider-Man’s are high grade McFarlane newstands (paid $3 ea). Paid $2 for the Robin 6, Batgirls
17 (like that cover), Worlds Finest 14, and Mr/Mrs X #1. Everything else was cover.

There were many long boxes of unorganized moderns from the past 2-10 years that were $1.50-$2.50, and I was short on time so I need to go back and take more time….I’m sure there are more hits, or just great covers/reads for the PC I missed.

This store had its last day on NYE and everything was 90% off. I only had an hour, and things were fairly picked over, but I grabbed 28 more books for $11. 5 more Absolute GLs that were in the dollar bin. Yep. 10 cents each. No big money makers here, but a few run fillers and a few fun 10/12 cent books.

Haven’t been buying much of late but this was a nice grab.
I always like these types of buys as it justifies the “knowledge” we obtain in the hobby. I know most of us know this stuff but there are many who don’t pay attention to some of the little things in the hobby.
The Spawns were $1 apiece but note they are all newstands (I put that label on after reboarding).
Always check for newsies on Spawn… especially around/after the issue #60 point.

The ASM…well…it was $100 bucks…nice copy. Not the greatest price, but same place as the Spawns. Newstand helped me justify spending $100 (I actually had sold my last copy and wanted another). Buuut… always look inside a newsie casually.
Mark Jewelers copy…Boom.
I had one other nice haul, will take pics of that soon.

Well, tough act to follow there with the Mark Jewelers find. But here is my quick haul for today. Did a quick errand and hit a shop I had not stopped at in several months.

I have not seen this Red Hood cover recently. Not many copies on eBay. Grabbed for $5. The Momoko cover Waa $4. And the Timms cover (Wonder Woman) was $10.

Here’s a series we probably should have on our hunt list. Rogue & Gambit (2018). Only 5 issues…they seem to sell for decent money…except for this issue (#5 Cover A)…and that’s because I can’t find a recent listing or a sale! Picked up for $1. What I’ll flip it for…well, we’ll have to see what happens…may just auction it starting f at $1 and see what happens. Looks NM or better.

And of course a haul wouldn’t be complete if I didnt add another Turok #1 to my collection . Thrown in for free!
