I Like What You Got! (LCS Finds)

Nothing amazing, but a bunch of buys at cover price or just under cover. The exception was Punisher War Journal at $10 for my PC. I might have one already somewhere, but it’s high grade and I wanted to support that shop.

I made a sloppy, rookie mistake in my excitement at the Martian Manhunters and didn’t notice until I got in the car that they’re second prints. :upside_down_face: Fail. There aren’t any on the Bay on the moment, so we’ll see.

A little Saturday comic shop crawl.

Left the house at 9:30am. Hit up 5 shops. Home by 6pm.

51 comics total. All cover price except paid up for the Absolute WWs ($15) and the X-Men 290 was $3.

Long day. Got a few books to list…. That’s tomorrow’s job.

BTW, only the two copies of issue #1 of Assorted Crisis Events. Found plenty of issues 2 and up. But just grabbed 3 & 4 as I already had issue 2 and want to see where it goes…

Master of the Beefcake.

Also did a little Saturday get out of the house comic shopping. All were cover minus 10%

Redcoat #1 Cover B (First Print)

Since I was finding First Print Ghost Machine books I grabbed some Geiger #1 B first prints

To add to the AMM holdings.

Also this one.

And finally the “score of the day” for me was

Two copies of #9 Absolute Batman 1st prints. These will pay for everything else to slow sell through.

Also grabbed an Assorted Crisis Events #1B to replace the #1A I have up for sale.

Got a lot of things to list but as he said above, that is a tomorrow problem.

I don’t see any 1B for sale…I’m going to hold back on my B cover…mine also has a lot of color rub on it…so much that I thought it was the actual art (see upper left & lower right)…so I need to see what I can dry clean off before listing.

I just listed it for $50….sold within minutes…

Nice.

I looked for it this weekend and didn’t find any.

Probably explains all the weird ads he shares that he gets while browsing…

Heh…well…when picking up my books today I decided why not? …and grabbed two more Ultimate blind bags for fun.

How about that for one of them!

Awesome pull. Congrats!

Very nice!

But it’s got damage so you’ll want to return it for a refund…right…?

Very nice.

Took off early today to hit 4 more shops about an hour away that I haven’t been to in a while.

Lots of Ark-M cover A still on shelves. I did find these variants. I think I’ll make a set of the variants and list them together.

Some more consistent Nightwing/Beefcake sellers.

Although these Jamal Campbell variants haven’t heated up (yet) like others, I like them to be next. They are earlier and I like how 95 looks similar to the 106 Mora variant that goes for crazy money.

A few random covers. Although Middleton’s Batgirl 23 gets all the love, I actually am more drawn to this cover as my favorite. I grab it whenever I find it in high grade for cover.

Some Ghost Machine/Geiger-Verse books.

I found another copy of the Batman 5 Leirix variant in 9.8 potential…going to take a small gamble on this will heat up in the coming months.

So that’s it. Nothing too exciting, but had fun searching. Better than working, for sure…

Spent $28. Just going to preface that here. Hit a lcs that was having a massive sale and their dollar bin room was .25 cents.

I am always adding early Adam Hughes covers. Victims is hard to find in any grade. It’s not a pricy horror but a HTF for sure.

Hughes worked on both of these (#1 someone else picked up recently) Hughes does interior art on #1.

Cat #1 is something I have wanted for a while. This Mark Spears Monsters cover most shops didn’t get.

Some Indy quarter grabs. Lancelot Link was one of my childhood favorite shows.

Geiger run fillers.

Still love X #1. Witchblade cover I don’t have but do now.

X-Files run filler. Love X-files

I will not pass up DF Wizard World or any other special edition comic for a quarter.

I love media tie in comics. This was a terrible sci-fi movie in the 90’s but still had to have them.

Ok. On to the books I got to sell

Quarter bin.

Quarter bin

Quarter bin saves.

All in $28. Some books I am not showing are 80’s bad girl schlock I love to collect. More JSC Gen 13’s and some random other crap books.

How do those last Geiger books end up in quarter bins….?

Good scores!

Loooooved Lancelot Link when I was a kid!

This store is a rare back issue store that mostly dabbles in new comics but isn’t the go to new comic store in the area. So what doesn’t sell this week goes into half priced boxes. When they don’t sell, they go upstairs to the dollar room. I don’t usually hit the dollar bins until they have a .50 or .25 sale. It takes time and a lot of work. Literally 500-600 long boxes. You wouldn’t believe what you could find there. I found a Red Hood the Hill #5 Mora in their quarter bins before.

Yeah!!! New comic day. Which means I was buying older issues on the cheap. $1.50 a book sale (21 for $30)

First up

Run fillers for my Sgt Fury collection.

I will read (and buy) any 12 and 15 cent marvel and dc comic in good shape for under $2

Have to love Hogans Heroes. I did as a kid.

I normally pay .25 to .50 cents per book for X-Files. But these are the thicker season one books and I own none of them. I love X-Files and look forward to reading these.

NM copies of Batman movie adaptations.

And you know that I have to offset purchases with something I can sell. So here are the $1.50 books for flipping

Beefcake!!! Sells for around $20

Normally won’t buy every copy of a book a store has. But these were in the sale bins and I asked if there was a limit and they said “what did you find that we missed” to which I replied I only will tell you if you let me buy in bulk.” They said they didn’t care and it wasn’t worth their time to list, sell, pack and ship $20-$25 books.

Same as above. God bless the Official CHU hunt list.

Yes. Once they hit clearance it’s fair game. People had their shot.

I’m holding on to one of each of those Rook books…2 & 3.
