I got to the store and ended up spending some time there. The collection included a full run of Absolute Batman first prints plus reprints. The shop owner is going to send the first prints off for grading. He wants a 9.8 set he said. There was mostly newer DC stuff. Sadly no beefcake or Nightwing. Superman Batman Detective Wonder Woman books. Some Green Lantern. The Absolute Batman was the deal maker for them.
I m not one to rip someone off. So I came clean about this as soon as I saw it. He has sold me books worth a couple of hundred dollars before cheap. But they always call me because I buy a lot from them.
But he insisted a deal is a deal.
I bought a ton of bronze and silver age books from them. When they get collections in they pull the keys to make their money and then sell the rest off. Often as low as a $1 or $2

It is a card stock cover. The regular cover is underneath.
Also. When I got it out of the bag I noticed fingerprints at the top. So not 9.8 I would imagine. This cover is matte-ish black and looks like it is easy to get finger prints on it.
Maybe get forensics to verify they are DWJs finger prints…that’ll raise the value!!
More than likely either whoever put it in the bag or the previous owners.
I was hoping the other variant from them would be in there too. It wasn’t.
Try some microfiber gently on the fingerprints? Like the cleaning cloths you get with glasses. 
I listed it. Wasted no time. Put it up for $449. Open to reasonable offers. Got an offer for $350 and an offer for $380.
Need to see what they have sold for and try the microfiber cloth.
Cloth seems to do ok. Made it more of a smudge than a finger print.
Half tempted to take the $380 and run. But if I do will be after midnight so it counts as a sale for tomorrow. lol. Had four other sales today.
