I can’t believe how hard it is to find Red Hood books. I have only ever found a couple in the wild

That’s an interesting point for discussion…of all the back issues that are more than a few years old (I.e., pre absolute universe) what have generally been the hardest to find for people?

I still find a lot of Mora back issues across the various titles…although I haven’t come across a Nightwing one in several months now. Prices online reflect that even the later mora variants have dried up.

But overall…I would say the Rogue/Gambit series and Mr/Mrs X have been the most scarce for me. Over two years of searching I have only found a few copies of the bigger issues. While I’ve found a lot of Mora books and beefcake. Only a select few issues have elided me in all.

I have gotten all the Mrs/Mr X books in my area. I have only found Tim Drake issues 1 time and rarely see Redhood other than the new 52 series that don’t sell for poop. Rarely find Nightwing issues of interest. Again usually older series no one cares about. Seems Nightwing is ordered to pre-sales mostly. I would imagine Redhood was the same.

I can’t find any GI Joe IDW for the life of me.

I used to occasionally find those in dollar bins but its been a hot minute

When I find them now they’re the $10 or less books…or they have them priced at eBay prices. So haven’t picked any up in a while.

Cannot find transformers lost light or late MTMTE issues either.

Even worse are the John Royle variants. I can’t find/don’t even see those at comic cons.
Clearly I can buy on eBay but darn they are pricey.

the market’s caught on to some of the trends, i feel those well dried a couple months ago. I can’t find any of that stuff anymore either.

Last couple of weeks have been slow in terms of finds, but this week did pretty good.

Monster High: Pride #1 2025 Cover B variant for cover price-last sale was $70
Absolute Catwoman #1 1:25 $12
Deadman #1 1:25 Choi variant for $15
Swamp Thing 1989 #1 Cover B cover price
Transformers The Movie #1 40th Anniversary 1:10 for $7

Some good books to list and one to keep.

Good hunting everyone!

I have acquired something that I think could be cool but I’m not absolutely positive because it’s hard to find information about it. I was at a horror themed store full of DVDs and VHS and some Comics. I went to browse through the Comics and found nothing too crazy but some fun little things (Faust reprints are a hoot). I did notice they had some Mark Spears Monsters trading cards. It was this old brick building so I had a terrible signal and I had my son with me who was ready to leave so we could go to Chuck E. Cheese as I promised because one was nearby (literally am there now). I was able to at least locate a little bit of information about the cards but don’t see them for sale anywhere online currently. They are, “Mark Spears Halloween Trading Cards,” from a 2022 Kickstarter I think. There were two blaster boxes and I bought them. I’m in Chuck E. Cheese and left them in the car so I can’t really take a picture of the actual boxes. I do have a screenshot from a random Internet listing I could find that was really old when they were for sale on a website years ago, and it’s those blasters.

Is the fact that it’s hard to find any for sale a really good sign or a really bad sign? Help me out, please, my friends here who know a lot more about Spears than I do as someone who only hopped on the train later on but thought these were cool!

Didn’t the whole Mark Spears Monsters thing start with these cards? Like, the comics were in response to the popularity of the cards?

Ya, and I think there was a later release as well.

If that was the first series, I think you found something really nice!

I have only opened (2) of the 2026 Halloween boxes but the cards look really cool. Pricing wise, there’s one that looks like yours for $200 but it’s signed by Mark and partially unwrapped (eBay item #: 800163582819). As far as sales, I couldn’t find any on eBay that have sold recently.

I think it’s technically the second series he did and it was the first Halloween one that was in 2022. I had trouble finding much of anything on eBay as well so I put one blaster up for a 10 day auction with a starting price of $60. That way if I get even one bid I’ll break even and if bidding goes crazy I’ll be happy.

Been saving loot for a couple upcoming Cons but got out early one day last week to go LCS hunting… It’s been a minute! Here are some goodies

$1.50 each, nothing spectacular but 3rd Red Hood and the Image United 1st Omega Spawn.

early Skottie Young

shocked I found this $1.50

cover price, all going for roughly $15-20

Some nice High Grade Horror and a sharp looking Action Force 1 all at least VFN+s, priced as marked. Definitely yes.

That Ghosts cover is FANTASTIC.

Ghosts remains underrated imo
It takes a back seat to House of Mystery, House of Secrets, Witching Hour & Unexpected.
It really shouldn’t. Yes it does not have the number of Neal Adams, Bernie Wrightson, etc covers, but they are still fantastic.
I agree that cover is fantastic as is the majority of the series.
(It was published a bit later than those above as well but still.)

Great pickups!!!
