I Like What You Got! (LCS Finds)

Crossed another book off my “must have” 70s/80s nostalgia list yesterday. I examined it and it looks to be an 8.0 as is, and maybe reach 9.0’with a press. So for $125 minus 10% discount well worth the price (8.0 CGCs go for $350).

Bought several more Star Wars books at the place, will post them all later, but this was the winner.

Very excited. Puzzling was that it was marked down from $150.

Found these today at one of my LCS. All at cover price, except for the All New Wolverine. I paid $10 for that, I am going to put that in my collection. The rest I will flip or put them away.

It’s funny, I don’t think the High Republic books have appreciated much yet. It HAS only been six months, but I would think a book would catch major heat by now. I think Star Wars comic popularity really is dependent on other media properties.

Takes a good 7+ years for certain comics to see a natural progression.

Hot out of the gate books fall gradually…

Because it’s $5000 a night to stay at the Star Wars hotel, I imagine many Star Wars fans money will be diverted for the next year or two :joy:

You’re in for a treat because it’s $5000 for two people for two nights!

We looked at the itinerary last night. Day 1: check in at 1:00 pm. Day 2: scheduled story interaction, meals, and Galaxy’s Edge visit 7a—-. Day 3: 10 am check out. So, it’s really about a day and a half of actual accommodations.

So at $5000 you’re paying $111 per hour for the experience….including time spent sleeping and waiting…

They should just have Jabba and his thugs shake you down as you enter the hotel…for the" experience" of getting robbed Star Wars style…

Big find was SW1. Discussed above.

SW2 is a reprint. Paid $20 which would have been ok if in NM shape. But it’s more like VF maybe. The UPC got me…didn’t see the subtle “reprint” on the upper left…was passing through so not enough to make me turn around…now just long term spec.

SW 16, 43, 50 & 68 seemed priced low. Going to try to move them to pay for issues 1&2.

78, 95 issues are just hard to find in high grade covers.

60 and x-wing are future spec/holds.

Went up to Boston to hang out with some friends. Stopped by a Newbury comics on quincy market. Pretty small but decent haul

Nice! The Newbury nearest me has at least 10 of those Champions 1s still in their “exclusives” box. I occasionally pick a few up.

I’m Durham for work and don’t think I’ll be able to sidetrack to any shops. Bummed for me but happy on seeing the scores being posted!

An LCS had 50% off all back issues. So prices on these were cut in half at the register.

Love the old Ghost Rider 21 at $5 after discount. Couple incentives I’ve wanted. $5 for that Wolvie x-men 2. Hoping we see Agatha again. Been looking for that one. $3 each for Death Metal mini-keys. Avengers 271: Black Knight vs Yellow Jacket for $1.50. Yep.

Are those punisher 218s the lenticular? Or second prints?

Edit: never mind, can see they are now.

Jealous.

You all know What If vol2 #28 and #29 is the first appearance and cover of Iron Punisher not that book.

I don’t think folks are buying that book (or the other Punisher War machine books) because they are interested in the first app so much).

They are buying because those covers by Crain are absolutely bad ass/cool as hell.

But it’s not “Canon”…
